Chili Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Obviously the Hangman as Schiavone thing breaks all sorts of minor logic as @RedTwosterpointed out, what if someone else won. But it was such a fun play on the disguise trope that it popped me. Logically it's a mess, but I think maybe I shouldn't think too deep about it otherwise I'm getting wrestling completely wrong and taking the medium way too seriously. Leave that to Cornette and that bloke that does shit with Meltzer or whoever. Quote
totheback Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 I wonder if they'll add any kind of stip to Joe/Hangman at Full Gear. Seems odd to just do a straight singles match between them for two consecutive PPVs. Enjoyed Dynamite a lot, although agree that they took too long to get to the meat of the Okada/Take stuff and the show closing angle. Quote

Most angles that involve someone wearing an elaborate disguise just so they can hit someone fail the logic test because they could have just run in and lamped them without going through all that palava. Unless it’s a “banned from ringside/building/promotion” type situation. Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted October 30, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted October 30, 2025 A mixed but mostly enjoyable show for me. Highlights - All the matches were good, particularly the Darby-Orange tag and the four way main event. I like the continuing build to Takeshita-Okada, and I did a quiet “I’m on the train” cheer for Hangman’s disguise reveal. Lesser points - FTR would be my fourth pick of those four teams for a title match at the PPV, but as has been pointed out, it’s probably to set up their C&C rematch for the titles. I don’t love the Conglomeration-Death Riders Blood and Guts announcement. It already feels like it’s overshadowing the women’s B&G match which hasn’t got a tenth of the attention it needs to, and will only get less now. Collision looks excellent this week. Bandido vs Mascara Dorada is a huge “yes please”, and I love the idea of Takeshita/Okada vs Not The Acclaimed taking “can they co-exist” to the extreme. Quote

Collision is such a strange show, it switches from being blockbuster-worthy to totally irrelevant so regularly that you never really know what to expect. It’s generally brilliant Sunday morning viewing, though. I’ve become a big fan. Quote

Cheeky Boy Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 I like that Hangman gets a second pop when he takes the hair/mask off. I like to think some people in the crowd didn't get it at the initial voice reveal, and thought Schiavone had gone insane throwing bottles around. Quote

Also, to be picky, SoS have been tagging for a fair while. Won't sisters of sin be in the blood and guts? I thought we were going for something like Triangle of Madness + Ford & Bayne vs Hayter, Aminata, Harley and two other faces (could've been any of Stat, Willow or Toni). Or maybe im misremembering, there was a lot of combos of those wrestlers going on in the build up. Regarding the conglomeration yeah they've probs gone a bit far. I think it really got over Kyle O'Reilly as the goofy asskicker and this Moxley mini program works because he's more sympathetic (i think he's got a cool low key style but just needed to care more about him for it to work, which this has done). Genuinely was rooting for him in this match. However, he came out to zero reaction because im sure that entrance was a funny idea in concept its nonsense that just doesn't work so just feels flat and lifeless (sorry). With KoR it has sort of elevated him. With Ishii its just weird. Mark Briscoe and OC can make the silly work but still feel harmstrung by it in meaningful moments, the blood and guts announcement sure was a fun comedy bit but should it be? Willow works cos she genuinely seems to project what theyre going for so it doesn't seem so affected. Still will be a heck of a match and using the conglomeration does really add some fun characters and different styles to the match (which nicely balances the fact theres a few quite standard blood and guts people) Quote

Could still have some others in the tournament that participate in the match. Probably play a part with the "beat-up" team facing someone fresher. After the call your shot win for Hayter & Aminata, I was expecting the Sisters of Sin to win the tournament match with some shenanigans. As the build to Blood & Guts has been piss poor despite having had a month since the announcement. We still don't know the teams. Quote

The King Of Swing Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 (edited) Really enjoyed Dynamite and another hot crowd. All the shenanigans were just the correct amount of goofy without going too far. Match quality was top notch across the board. The Conglomeration entrance music/video is pretty shit. At least OC is smart enough to not come out to it. Mox Vs. The Better Kyle, has been a really fun TV feud. Just watching Marina at ringside has actually become a bit of a highlight during Mox's matches. She's really animated and reacts to almost everything. Actually wouldn't be against her finding a way to sneak into Blood and Guts. She's generally been pretty decent in wild brawls. Gutted for Ford. Was pretty clear last week that she was hurt. Mox's cartoon reaction to Marina teaming with Bayne was wonderful stuff. The woman's Blood and Guts build has been appalling. Genuinely believe it was only announced for PR and nobody had any plans beyond that. Collision looks tasty but as much as I love MxM, they need to put the whole Casting Call shit to rest. Gets them on TV though, I suppose. God bless 7* Dick Head Okada. You just knew that he wouldn't be able to stop himself. Wonderfully wholesome Bandido video. RedTwoster Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Bloody hell, Collision woke me up this morning. A show packed with tremendous wrestling and PPV-quality matches (and The Conglomeration) - well worth your time if you were on the fence I really want Okada to step it up in the ring for singles matches. He works really well in tag matches, and I enjoyed the match with The Acclaimed quite a lot. Okada pisses charisma and has the best facial expressions in wrestling. If you could rely on him to deliver that little bit extra you’d have an obvious contender ti win the Wotld title on your hands. Nixon Newell and her partner seemed like a decent tag team. There were a few sloppy moves here and there, but on the whole, when AEW is building a women’s tag division, I’d certainly sign them for that very reason. Mone was great once again, but Statlander was a little bit distracting on commentary. She’s every bit as bad a talker as she is great a wrestler. I hate The Conglomeration. Nothing more needs to be said. ….and I also hate the pairing of Hook and Eddie Kingston. They seem very badly suited and have no chemistry together. Mascara Dorada is incredible, absolutely awe-inspiring. And Bandido is the best wrestler on planet earth, I feel more and more right in saying that each time I see him wrestle. He’s incredible. If he ever faces Will Ospreay on PPV, I’d pay treble the normal price just to see it. Quote
