Imagine, from about the same timeframe, doing what Flair used to. He'd routinely be the hardest drinker and last to leave the bar. Bret tells in his book how he was never the "drink all night" kind so he'd take off early to go get laid. He'd get up what he'd consider to be early the next day, head to a virtually empty gym. find Ric already sweating buckets on the treadmill and see from the display that he'd already been on it for an hour. How THAT man is still alive (sort of) when between wrestling, travel, parties and workouts, it sounds like he didn't have time for sleep for a couple of decades.

Not sure anyone has ever been more cocaine and lived a more cocaine lifestyle than Flair while not actually doing cocaine.

This was Flair's NWA schedule for just the first three months of 1983 alone. Looks like a right laugh.

That's a tough schedule but at least there are periods of 5 or 6 days in the same state or same City in some instances. I think that looks easier than the madness the WWF were doing in the late 80s and early 90s - flying halfway round the world apart.

I think you have to factor in somewhat that Flair was also main eventing probably all these shows and working a long match each night, not in the same venue so their is still some travel and that he'd be working probably a lot of time limit draws. It's nice they factored in a day off after just popping over to New Zealand, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur mind.

But the NWA schedule was more for let's say organised than the WWF's utterly fucking mad mid 80's tours, I believe someone around the early 90's started to get the routes more in order so that people weren't crisscrossing the country and going mad. @air_raidmight know more on the basis of his incredible house show thread.

Not as many shows, but Zack Sabre Jr did a pretty insane 26 match run in one month in 2017:

Looking at the schedule, even if he never flew home during time off, he did at least 35-40 intercontinental flights in a year.

I've read that Zane Bresloff started to input and brought his experience in music promoting into it but I couldn't swear to that being true.

It’s a bit of an unfair comparison as the NWA was more of a family of promotions where each would run the same circuit every month without anyone having to travel too far unless you’re the touring champ i.e Flair in his first reign in 1981 might have worked 30-35 matches in a month but fewer than half of them would have been for Mid-Atlantic and the rest all over the place. Later on with JCP at its peak in the mid 80s you’d see him do 30-35 still but realistically that’s over 15-17 shows only as there’s usually a real match then a show ending Bunkhouse Stampede for which everyone comes back.

The WWF in the early 90s might have ended up running the road smarter but as a snapshot of 1992 I can tell you in January they still thought nothing of asking Randy, Jake and a crew to work Moline the night after San Diego (a 7 hour flight) and by November they’d still ask guys to work Charlotte (Whooo!!) the night before TVs in Erie PA, which might have been a 90 minute flight but more likely the lads drove for 8 hours instead.
