The footballing dynamics in Scotland are baffling at times. After the poor performance against Germany half the country was on the back of the team and in particular Steve Clarke's without really accepting how good Germany were or that the Porteous pen/red card was the nail in the coffin.

Ahead of Switzerland it seemed the same half were willing Scotland to be beaten and heavily then after a positive result and performance, leaving qualification largely in their own hands ahead of the final group game against Hungary, again nearly all media was negative rather than encouraged and optimistic.

Steve Clarke is Scotland's best achieving manager in a quarter of a century but half the nation (and seemingly all from the fanbase of one club in particular) are desperate to constantly discredit him and see the national team fail.

Including a couple of blue noses at work yesterday who told me before the game that they wouldn't be watching but hoped Scotland would "get absolutely pumped".

I'll be very honest, Alan Shearer has wound me up so much I'm looking up flights from Southampton to Germany.

Fucking egg.

Marc Guehi, the best player for England. The rest were absolutely shit.

England are so boring. Imagine having that pool of talent and serving up zero entertainment. Fucking crap to watch.

Isn't this jus what England do every tournament? Win the first game by a single goal, draw the next, barely scrape by the final group match which leads to lots of lads throwing their beers around. Then get kicked out easily in the knockout stage...the same lads then crying into their union jack flag capes*

When chatting with a bunch of "this will be easy" people at work today this was my prediction and reaction.

Southgate HAS to go after this tournament. His tactics are woefully outdated and he is getting the worst out of a fantastic squad.

That Cole Palmer still hasn't kicked a ball yet is criminal.

Imagine being Ten Hag when you get sacked in October and replaced with Gareth Southgate.

And his first January signing is Conor Gallagher.

Need to bring Phillps back through the door. I don't wanna go too hard in as you still may win this tournament as its so average, it may come home lol

Assuming it's living in Spain.
