The Gaffer Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Some of their new albums blend together all too easily for me but Love Letters era Metronomy were one of my favourite bands on the planet at the time and this is that at its peak, backdropped by a fucking aquaduct: Quote
Merzbow Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 Probably the best gig I went to last year when a bunch of big hardcore acts pulled out in support of Palestine from Download and played a 100 cap venue instead. I may or may not be in the video somewhere.. Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted January 29, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 29, 2025 Saw Cowboy Bret at the last poster avatar in this thread and thought to "this'll be something for me". Wasn't expecting that. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted May 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 24, 2025 (edited) Someone randomly opened a Pinkpop Archive on Youtube this past month and all sorts of remastered treasures are popping up. Namely this one... Limp Bizkit, pre-Three Dollar Bill (the album came out a couple of months later). The quality is tremendous, Limp Bizkit before they blew up into the nu-metal juggernaut, just a raw, rap-metal band with some serious confidence and a point to prove. Looking at the dates, I actually saw Limp Bizkit 5 days after this set in Newport opening for Korn, they blew my tiny 15 year old mind. Great memories. Edited May 24, 2025 by Egg Shen Quote
TibBo Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 You listen to stuff like Counterfeit on there, and it makes you realise how god-awful their later stuff was. Always thought Wes was the most creative of all the nu-metal guitarists. Quote
The Gaffer Posted June 6, 2025 Posted June 6, 2025 Peak Underworld. These Pinkpop sets are great. Always love the look and feel of these pre-millennium euro fests. Nice mix of optimism and grunginess: Quote
SaitoRyo Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Silverada (FKA Mike and the Moonpies) are probably my favourite band at the moment. Would love to see them live. Until then... Quote
Merzbow Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Was just thinking of this thread, been binging on Kaelan Mikla gigs as it's been over 5 years since I saw them last. Here they are in what looks like a pub garden. It's actually the record store 12 Tónar, Bjork used to hang out there. Quote
The Gaffer Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 This is the best thing CKY have ever done. It sounds better than any of their albums. They were a fucking great band in their day. Not an amazing one or anything, but a great one. Quote

The majority of it is on Spotify on the remastered Volume 1 album. Quote
