I'm invested in The Plan to the extent now that it'll feel like a bit of a bum out if it happens. If Trish goes we're in for one of those dull final week processions that surely sees Yinrun win it. As @Gay as FOOK said, it’s going to be a dull final week. Chanelle’s interview was a bit of a trainwreck, AJ and Will do a really poor job at actually holding people to account for their actions, unlike Emma Willis who was just masterful at these things. It’s not her fault at all but she got a dreadful cult of personality online, especially Reddit which has been a cesspool the last two weeks. Every comment that wasn’t pro-Trish got downvoted into oblivion and you got labelled a racist. They’ve been tripping themselves over all week desperately trying to strategise how to split their votes to keep her in and it’s backfired spectacularly. It’s not even just online but Late and Live has been dull all week because it’s just been Trish this and Trish that like a fan club and they never talk about anyone else. She was a deserved winner even if I didn’t personally like her but her toxic fanbase fucked her right over here. That being said the final week is going to be so so much more interesting because now one group is without their leader, and I don’t think Yinrun is as locked in as it seemed at one point. Late and Live might actually talk about someone else which would be nice. Even this post eviction interview has been night and day. Chanelle basically got interrogated about one incident with Trish her entire interview and now she has to sit there and watch AJ and Will give Trish a proper interview about how great she is. I think she got off relatively lightly - AJ and Will were still very light touch. The thing is though they’re not investigative journalists and the post exit interview isn’t there to press people on admitting to lying. They should have gotten the hint early and just moved on to other questions. Chanelle’s interview felt about half the length and consisted of “you were talking about Trish weren’t you?” And “Jenkin’s alright isn’t he?”. It was two very clearly biased hosts trying a hit job on a woman who we all already knew was lying. Nobody else got that treatment, not Kerry for her much derided comments, not Paul or Dylan. You could clearly tell the hosts were fuming Trish was gone and took it out on Chanelle. Whether Chanelle was lying or not it was hard to watch. They then followed it up with an in depth interview with Trish about all sorts like how amazing she is and how all the housemates were microaggressive to her, and just sat and talked about Chanelle right in front of her. If you’re not in it for hearing about how great Trish is then the whole thing came across as strange and unprofessional. I think I’ve compared the Trish fanbase on Reddit to wrestling before and it’s even more accurate now. The BBUK sub the last two weeks has been insufferable; making polls about who to vote for but not including Trish or Noky in the options, piling on anyone with a negative opinion about Trish, the mods locking a pro-Jenkin thread for “spoilers” but keeping ten pro-Trish ones open. For every post there was ten about how to split your votes on Jenkin/Olivia/Chanelle and how they’re all using other people’s phones and buying sim cards to vote. It’s just been a huge toxic echo chamber of hardcores shitting on casuals. The second Trish got voted out it filled to the brim with posts about vote fixing, about how the racists have won and about how they’re not watching it anymore. And it’s a real shame because I liked Trish when she went in, I think at one point on here I said she was in my top picks. Her fan base has completely sabotaged her trying desperately to keep her in and you have to feel if they’d just voted for who they actually wanted out instead of splitting their votes between three people, Trish would still be in there. Their role, presumably, is to act as the voice of the viewer, and ask the questions that they want asked. If they didn’t press Chanelle on lying, it would have looked pretty strange; but compared to some of the interviews Emma Willis and even Davina McCall did in the past, it was pretty light touch. I think Paul and Dylan should have been given a harder time, but the Dylan interview certainly felt uncomfortable to me as you could kind of sense that he was a bit pissed off; and I think AJ cottoned on to that. She’s went private on Twitter and deleted her Instagram. Not a twist I would have seen coming quite honestly. There’s something to be said for digging up old regretful comments from when someone was a teenager but these are from a woman in her twenties and as recent as a couple of years ago. ITV would have been fucked. I don’t have X Twitter so I’m only seeing screenshots on Reddit but you can add women and the Jewish community to the list of people Trish has made comments on. She really is a peice of work. Edit (again): add muslim and black people to Trish’s list, as well as shaming other women. One particularly disgusting one (which has since been deleted as she’s finally started deleting them) included calling Barack Obama a “house negro” and multiple uses of the word “coon”. Imagine being Noky, Yinrun or Matty and coming out to see all this. Just awful. I mean, jeez... you kind of want to believe that something in her changed drastically and she's left all those views behind, but then also... why were the tweets still up? It's almost mind-bending. And, on a separate note, how on earth did ITV put someone on BB without going through their social media with a fine-tooth comb? Whatever efforts they may have made to try to leave behind the grotesque elements of the show, they've failed at almost corner. All the "The Ultimate Social Experiment" returns stuff beforehand... I feel like the real result is that we can't have BB without it devolving into an absolute cesspit. For what it's worth, I probably have Matty just a nose ahead of Yinrun as who I'd like to win. Yinrun is obviously super lovely, but I like Matty. Cue the revelations that his real name is Dr. Matty Shipman and there's a very specific reason he works in geriatrics. One theory is she just told them she never had socials and they never found them because her Twitter handle isn’t her name. Also the “these were a while ago maybe she’s changed” reasonings got shot down real early when people realised she was posting stuff like this as recently as April this year. Also by her own reasoning, how long ago it was and how old she was at the time isn’t a good excuse for her comments.
