Big Brother reboot

So with the reboot happening this weekend, felt as good a time as any to start a thread, to reminisce on what was guaranteed great television - for those that like that sort of thing.

Who’s your favourite housemate?

Got a favourite clip?

Who did you hate the most?

Will you be watching on Sunday?

There's endless classic moments in this thread, but a new thread's definitely in order on the off-chance this is good.

I have zero faith it will be, but I'll give it a watch Sunday. Keep it simple, stick with the minimalist Channel 4 presentation style and get a decent demographic of society and it'll have its niche and likely have me as a viewer. Fill it with ITV pet projects, influencers and people who already have media training and it'll be shite.

I'd take this bunch of paint dry specialists over any overly forced 'drama' so long as it felt somewhat real:

I was having a read of an interview that the the commissioner of this reboot has done, and he’s essentially said it’ll have its own identity, similar to how C4 era had their’s, and C5, had their’s, but want to appeal to the “core” BB fan base, having also turned down those that already have a decent following on social media.

They're hoping that from the launch show, people will say “okay they’re not messing about”.

They’re certainly talking a big game, let’s hope they pull it off.

Ah I really hope this is good. I remember being utterly hooked on the first 6 or 7 seasons. Felt like must-watch TV.

Even when someone boring did something boring like Sandy jumping over the wall, it all felt so awkward and real that it made it interesting.

I might be an outlier, but I loved the fourth season. I quite liked the fact that they all got along; sometimes constant arguments and drama makes a series a bit uncomfortable and unpleasant to watch.

Having said that, towards the end I found the celebrity series far more compelling than the "regular" version, so I hope that makes a comeback. Jedward were particularly fun, and were absolutely robbed of the crown(s) during their year. I like them even more these days, given their unexpected political activism.

Ann Widdecombe was unexpectedly entertaining during her year. I hate to admit it, but at the time, I actually wanted her to win.

On the other hand, Michelle Visage was a bit disappointing. I'm a big fan of Drag Race (although I wasn't aware of it at the time), but she was a little unpleasant; and I'm sure/I'd hope on hindsight she'd regret her friendship with Katie Hopkins that year.

Fully agree with every word said here. Great housemate choices they were!

The series with Pete Burns, Michael Barrymore, George Galloway etc is one of the best celebrity reality show series ever. The fight night episode is fantastic. Series 17 and 19 were up there for the drama but nothing could touch the 2006 one.

Yup that Celebrity one was huge. It felt like everyone was watching that. Also had the added thing of Chantelle not being a celebrity but passing herself off as one. They cast that series fantastically.

They got rid of John Tickle. Unforgivable

I remember back during BB5, I attended an eviction night, and got into the studio audience where they were interviewing the evicted housemate, it was Sam, whom used to live in her bikini, and was when Davina stripped to her bikini for the interview.

I had a sign that was advertising the ECW One Night Stand PPV for some reason; felt really edgy. Pretty sure someone screenshotted it at the time, can’t remember whether it was on here or the TWC forum.

Easily one of the most memorable moments has to be the whole 'David's dead' episode.

Some background, David Guest is in the house but has been unwell...and Angie (David Bowie's ex-wife) has just been told David Bowie has died, this follows:
