If you vote Tory, you’re voting in favour of forcing refugees onto flights to Rwanda, or on to barges; if you vote Tory, you’re voting against trans rights; if you vote Tory you’re supporting policies which make the lives of disabled benefits claimants harder, all as they greedily funnel money to their rich friends. You’re voting for a party that now openly says racist and sexist things that would make some UKIP politicians blush. I think it’s reasonable enough to dislike someone based on the fact they are willing to tolerate that. As far as Henry goes, he does seem to be learning - and to be fair, he’s not indicated that he supports, or is even aware, of these policies. I get the impression that his interest in politics may be very surface level, although I may be wrong. That's essentially my point though. I don't ask people in real life if they vote Tory or not and BB should be no different. It would be exhausting and it creates heroes and villains that aren't based on any other factors than red or blue. If Henry never outright came out and said he loves Boris Johnson and voted Tory then I would assume it but never base my opinion off it. That's why Henry stands out so much because he made such a fuss about it in his video package and then you see virtually nothing of it. Quote

I find it kind of interesting to know things like that; watching views change or learning what it is that shapes someone’s political beliefs. I can absolutely see why you’d feel that way, though. As far as today’s show goes - nominations are so hard to call this week. Hallie, Trish, Dylan, Olivia and Paul all seem like they could be at risk; it could end up being the first week where more than two people are up. Kerry seems to have reigned it in a little, so she may live to fight another day. The various cliques seem to have fallen apart slightly - thanks, perhaps, to the ant task; and it’ll be interesting to see if they regroup in the coming days, There’s no way in hell I could cope in that house with the sleep situation, and some of inconsiderate fucks in there (seriously, why can’t you have your 3am play fights in another room?) - and I think Jenkin feels similarly. The exhaustion must be brutal. He’s been accused of being a bit miserable (including by me) - but on reflection, no bloody wonder! Quote

Jenkin couldn’t be arsed and fair fucks to him he didn’t hide it when the offenders asked. “Yeah you’re doing my fucking head in”. Refreshing from all the little secret moans the housemates do behind backs. Still think it’s Paul vs Trish but there’s room for a Hallie after last night’s antics. Quote
textonly Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 I usually watch and talk about BB with my mum, but she's on holiday, so I'm going to get some of my thoughts out here: Trish is a fascinating character, I think. So far, I've find myself almost always agreeing with her and constantly impressed with how she expresses ideas to housemates. Honestly, I think she'd be my pick to win, yet I can see why that's unlikely and others may find her difficult to live with. She's kind of like having a live-in therapist or mediator. It brings to mind how much Michael hates Toby in The Office. People just don't like feeling like their behaviour is being checked by someone in their own group, even if it's largely to positive effect. On Henry, I think he comes across well and I don't have a hard time rooting for him despite his political allegiance (well, not day-to-day at least, him winning would still be a hard swallow), but I wouldn't put a lot of stock in him learning and growing. I think it's more the case that he's an amiable enough lad with the social nous to recognise and reflect the group he's in. After the show, I'd put my money on him going back to his rich mate set and doing the same. Jordan feels like what might have happened if Morrissey was born in the 90s and couldn't sing. I mean, I'm a huge fan of The Smiths and Morrissey (well, y'know, the music), so I definitely enjoy the droll cynic act, but the best I can hope for the guy is that this experience helps him to realise that he's better off living without a created persona. I feel like the way Morrissey found fame and success locked him into his worst impulses. I hope Jordan learns a different lesson. Quote
RedRooster Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 How on earth did Paul get through this round of nominations without getting put up for the public vote? Utterly baffling. Dylan voting for Trish because of something Olivia originally said is also pretty bizarre - but kind of backs up @FelatioLips’ theory about him being completely unwilling to back down, even when proven wrong. On the whole, this was a fun episode - everyone rallying around Yinrun while she was in prison was quite sweet, and her line about ‘never saying the n word again’ made me laugh out loud. I actually felt a bit sorry for Hallie in the end, Tom’s behaviour towards her - as annoying and immature as she was - seemed purposely mean. I can understand being at the end of your tether with her, particularly given how unreasonable she is, but I still ended up feeling sorry for her. At the end of the day, she’s still only 18. The idea of her leaving the house to booing feels a little bit uncomfortable to me, given that she’s shown that she’s perhaps not emotionally mature enough deal with something like that. Hopefully I’m wrong, as it’s almost certainly going to play out that way. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted October 26, 2023 Paid Members Posted October 26, 2023 #FreeYinrun Best episode of the series so far I think. It was nice to see Yinrun’s rule breaking wasn’t intentional or toxic, and her bringing the entire house together showed she’s definitely the favourite. Nobody even visted Hallie or Olivia in their prisons but Yinrun got a full protest, lock in and legal representation. Also surprised Paul isn’t up for eviction. I think Hallie is definitely going to go and realistically it shouldn’t be close. Considering her behaviour at times though I think 3 weeks was a good run. She was one housemate nonination away from likely going last week. Tom, who so far hasn’t done much but has seemed OK from a distance, got his chance to shine this episode and boy did he fuck it up. Him and Jenkin winding Hallie up in the bedroom I think was fair game because Hallie isn’t above that type of behaviour. But then in the garden when he wouldn’t admit he was just on the wind up and pretended he was sticking up for Henry and Jordan, only to have that debunked immediately, made a fake weaselly little patronising apology that on the outside world likely would have got him a smack. If that mask slips any further he could be in trouble. Quote

I do wonder how different each result would be if it was still the Channel 5 approach of 'vote to save' - I reckon Farida might have stuck around although it would still be a tough call, but in a three-way vote like this, it suddenly becomes more interesting. I think Hallie would probably have enough support to survive - while I can't imagine anyone would feel passionate enough about Dylan to vote for him, and the same might be true for Trish. With it being a three person vote, you wouldn't have a situation in which people who dislike Hallie could vote to save one opposing person en masse. Quote
RedRooster Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 God, I’m not sure one episode has ever soured me on so many people as this one did. Jordan trying to paint Matty as the person making unwanted advances was such a misrepresentation, and far from how Matty deserves to be portrayed. They can have their opinion on his open relationship, but there’s a difference between Henry doubting it could work and Jordan branding it ‘baloney’. Jordan’s obsession with Noky is also really weird. Dylan has arsey tendencies, but the way he was treated by certain people made me feel sorry for him - some of it bordered on bullying, with Olivia seemingly trying to provoke him by wasting food then just being plain nasty when he was in the diary room. On the subject of food, he’s 100% right. Eating what you want, when you want when the budget is limited is just plain stupid. Olivia’s gang waking everyone up was also horrendous behaviour. Paul is a pillock, and Tom is a sneaky little fuck. It’ll be really interesting to see who is nominated this week. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted October 29, 2023 Paid Members Posted October 29, 2023 Yeah it was a mess of an episode and a load of people came out looking bad. Jordan and Henry saying they’d marry Theresa May and Nadine Dorries, Paul/Olivia/Tom being arseholes, and don’t get me started on Chanelle thinking there’s more than one moon. I’m still Team Dylan. For someone who prides themselves on being educated and honest, Trish cannot seem to grasp how bad she looks making a food agenda and then binge eating all the food in the night and as Dylan is cooking house meals. Insane behaviour. Quote
The Gaffer Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Producers must have been high fiving after finally making them crack proper on tonight's show. Okay it wasn't fight night or anything...but it's probably the best we're going to get from a seemingly mostly nice bunch having a mildly entertaining series. It's been in the making for awhile now but it took Kerry - whose been keeping as dull and chummy-everymate as possible since hearing her name being chanted - all of sixty seconds to be out of the house before Dylan stepped up to be the top heel. Bounding back into the room roaring at Trish "Never thought I'd see black on black!" (yes, really) for doing what she had to do in playing the game. I feel for Noky big time. She got dragged into Trish's more gung-ho "Fuck it let's nominate him, her and her" attitude to the task good and proper. Quote
RedRooster Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) Bloody hell, that was an uncomfortable episode. What a nasty piece of work Dylan is. The fact people had to stand between him and Trish - I’m not entirely sure they should have let him back in the house when he was that angry, explicitly saying ‘just wait until I get back in there’. That bordered on being really serious. Yelling and swearing at two women much younger than him for putting him up for nomination. What a man child. Olivia can be entertaining, but she’s a total brat. Some real bully vibes from her too. I find Noky boring as shit, but I really felt sorry for her there. Paul continues to be a nasty pillock, and Tom is a total weasel. They can all get to fuck. It would be a bit unfair if Trish and Noky both ended up for nomination on the back of this. It would be a miserable end to life in the house for Noky in particular, who is definitely at risk of being isolated now, given that Trish is pretty much her only ally in there. Paid Members FLips Posted October 31, 2023 Paid Members Posted October 31, 2023 I feel bad for Noky who genuinely was so excited about getting a secret task until she found out what it was. That being said, I know you don’t want to be obvious but her play acting when BB revealed an eviction was another example of her acting and putting on crocodile tears when it matters. It was pretty brutal watching her get outed immediately. I still like Dylan and I think this narrative going around of him “going after two young women” is pretty overblown. Them being women doesn’t and shouldn’t excuse them for being shouted at for what he (rightfully) considered a backstab. Trish came off looking just as bad as he did, but I’m not sure what his “black on black” angle was about. Her “I was going to explain myself…but then” excuse was so clearly bollocks. She had nothing and resorted to matching Dylan’s aggression and trying to take the high ground as well, which doesn’t fly. I also found myself unusually agreeing with Paul, Jenkin, Tom and Olivia when they said if someone suggested one of their friends they would at least try and defend them. Noky might have thought she was being honourable but sacrificing her bed mate to look good in front of Trish was a weak move and one I think will haunt her til she goes. I don’t like Trish at all. I find there something really sinister about how she puts so much effort into presenting herself as a strong, independent voice that influences and protects the quieter housemates like Noky and Yinrun but then when push comes to shove she’s causing more problems than she solves. She makes a food agenda and eats all the food, then badmouths people to other housemates when they bring it up. She scorned Matty for asking if the people who already ate wanted food tonight when she is the one making sausage sarnies as dinner is being made. She tells people to speak their truths and get things off their chest but then goes behind backs and gets confrontational when people approach her. On late and Live when one single person tried to say anything negative about her the crowd just screamed and shouted over him and I think they represent what she’s all about quite well. I think something was up with the way Kerry went too. She was guaranteed to be destroyed on eviction by a live crowd yet somehow ends up being snuck out the back door and then for some reason being a loved super face on Late and Live. It was only Friday she was still getting chants to kick her out. Strange. I think Dylan, Trish and Noky will all be up this week as the house has been split down the middle. It’s a double eviction too so we could have the exciting prospect of a Dylan and Trish double elim which would be fantastic viewing. I’m still Team Yinrun but I’m enjoying Jordan and Henry still. Still like Dylan but I think the pressure has gotten to him. Wouldn’t be sad to see Paul, Trish, or Matty to go. Quote
textonly Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Dylan's reaction is classic BB silliness really; something a million housemates have been guilty of over the years. "People nominated me, but were polite and friendly in our daily interactions - how dare they!?" But that's just life for everyone in the BB house. People don't owe you explanations for nominations and it's usually forbidden outright anyway. You just have to get on with things. The aggro on top is less becoming, but I don't think it was bordering on violence or anything truly bad; it's more the case that it's a bad look to be losing your head over something that's a fundamental part of the game. He literally nominated Trish last week. Getting bent out of shape about nominations is poor form anyway, but when it's someone you nominated at your last opportunity, you don't really have much ground to scream betrayal, surely? That all said, I don't think he's a massive dickhead or major villain or anything. He's just not been great at handling the nomination process. Hopefully everyone cools off and the house doesn't become fully bisected. As people have said, it's hard not to feel for Noky in this situation. She really didn't do anything wrong. Quote

They had to nominate, they had a limited window in which to do it given that they couldn’t get caught (which they should have said) and given that Dylan has been a grumpy bastard, I don’t see how Noky was backstabbing him in any way by selecting him. A nomination isn’t necessarily an indication of dislike, it’s potentially just an indication that someone is hard to live with. As for his reaction, Trish matched it - but I can understand her frustration. He was definitely the instigator, as soon as he came out of the room, he was yelling and the ‘black on black’ stuff was just bizarre. I think Trish often comes across as a parody of what right wing people thing a left winger is, and Dylan is completely right on the food monitoring, but he was in the wrong here I think. 8 hours ago, FelatioLips said: It’s a double eviction too Is that confirmed? It would indicate more than 2 people are up for eviction or it’s pretty anticlimactic. They also asked Kerry to pick a nomination to watch and she picked one of Dylan’s which was Spoiler Noky, so you can likely guess who his first was. Quote
