Vince thought Christian was ugly, that's why he didn't like him.

Its mad. If they had have pulled the trigger with Christian when he was hot in 2005 before he left for TNA in frustration, he could have been as big a star as Edge became. Christian was the better worker and promo of the two & didn't have the tendency for hokey shite that Edge always has. 

Wasn't Christian originally meant to return and be the lad who was attacking Jeff Hardy too? only they went with Matt instead, leading to that awful brother vs brother feud & mania match. Instead Christian was stuck in Yoshi Totsu land of WWE ECW, which made no sense.

Has anybody ever actually confirmed it was supposed to be Christian attacking Jeff? As far as I remember, he was rumoured to be returning around the time the attacks started and people jumped to conclusions. On TV, Matt always appeared to be the perpetrator.

Vince has always historically looked for any sort of reaction. Christian comes off as a fairly matter-of-factly, mellow guy who would no-sell all that weird psychological bullshit. I imagine that would earn you Vince's ire.

It makes you wonder what the thought process was that led to him dropping the World Heavyweight title to Randy Orton on the Smackdown immediately after he won it - had the heel turn always been factored into things, or was this another McMahon decision aimed at cutting the legs out from under the guy? It could be a bit of both, I suppose. 

WWE really missed out on the guy, but their loss has absolutely been AEW’s gain. He’s one of the best heel characters of the 21st century. 

One thing I do miss though is his old Waterproof Blonde theme song. Tony Khan - if you’re reading this, if you can pay for the license to this I swear to god I’ll watch every sodding minute of programming you produce for the rest of the year (…not beyond that, though - I can only sacrifice so much of my life):

Love that tune. 

Thinking about it, though, his TNA theme might be the most successful generic copy ever. It's your classic nondescript wrassler entrance jam dressed up a bit to be like the Waterproof Blonde theme but it's absolute mustard and just stuck through the years. 

Consequently, dropping CHRISTIAN, AT LAST, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN! (one of those ludicrously good fun wrestling things) for the mother of all generic Ruthless Aggression era chonky riff tunes was criminal. God, that period where all those mid carders cut their hair and decided "Serious" was their gimmick absolutely blew.

His TNA theme was a WCW-style, instrumental rip-off of Evanescence’s “My Last Breath”.

Pretty sure Prichard has confirmed that when they hired Christian back, this was the plan, with the intention of it leading to either E&C vs The Hardys or a four way for the belt at Mania 25, and Vince kiboshed it as “too obvious.”

Christian had a belter run in 2009 as the ECW Champion. Proper Babyface champion. It was ace. Better than he'd have fared as Edge's lackey vs. Jeff. The problem was, they didn't reward him for his great work in '09 with a proper WHC run, Only after Edge retired.
