Genuinely feel sick, Brewster. I think we're toast and I can see - legit - only two points coming out of those remaining games at this stage. There'll be no fairytale or Super Kev to bail us out this year.

I can't say it hasn't been a very, very long time coming though.

Everton in their worst run of form for as long as I can remember and a front line of Ronaldo, Sancho, Bruno and Rashford can't get the job done. Ten Hag is going to have to be a bloody miracle worker to turn these lot into a top team.

With one hand he giveth….

Is Ten Hag nailed on for United then? I though Poch would have been the front runner with an eye on Tuchel and Conte’s situations even though they don’t play the ‘United Way’ whatever that is.

Turgid shite if we’re going by the last 9 years. It should be Ten Hag all day long, with an eye on Tuchel as you say. I’ll never get the fuss over Pochettino, seems to have had a lot of hype for years but never really achieved anything. I think he’d be a disaster at Man Utd.
On second thoughts, it should be Pochettino all day long.

Pochettino is a specialist in failure.

Ten Hag is the right kind of appointment. A coach with a clear and defined idea of what he wants to do with a club, and he's not going anywhere unless he gets to do it entirely his way. Exactly what United need. It may not work out but it's the direction United have to go after a succession of quick fix appointments. Of course, the problem is nobody will have any patience when it doesn't work out in the first season and he'll end up pulled in another direction.

In terms of the summer, I'm not so much bothered about who United bring in, more who they get rid of. There's a handful of players I'd keep, at best. But they're never going to get rid of who they need to, so Ten Hag is going to be stuck with Maguire, Fred, McTominay and all four of the shitty full-backs whether he wants to or not. If I were him, there's no way I'd take this job and I hope for his sake he doesn't. Pochettino is who United deserve and should get.

Season 2 Shut Up GIF by The Lonely Island

He's managed Espanyol, Southampton, Spurs and PSG.

His Spurs team played probably the best football in the country for two years (fucking FIGHT me you cowards), took them to the Champions League final and massively over achieved with them. Have no idea how anyone can't see that.

He took a team with Winks and Sissoko to within 90 minutes of winning the European Cup. Are you all fucking well????

They didn't win a trophy under him not because of him, it was because of Spurs and their mentality. They'll never win anything. They're perennial losers.

And as for PSG, if he's under achieved not winning the Champions League, then so has Pep Guardiola at City.

I hope Poch goes nowhere near United. Absolute pricks that genuinely don't deserve him.

Saying that, he's a miracle worker, but even United might be beyond him. They're a disaster.

The best football is the one that wins stuff. If his was the best for two years, it would be reflected by the trophy cabinet.

I think that's absolute bollocks and pure "LOL!!! Trophy cabinet though!!!!" way of looking at it.

Are you seriously suggesting that a shitty Carabo Cup win would change everything? Of course not.

Shit teams have won leagues  and cups before haven't they? I mean look at Greece 2004....actually they're probably your heroes so scrap that point :)

I already said as well, it's Spurs, they'll never win anything. They could win all 38 games in a season and still somehow lose the title by a point.

As funny as the 'trophy cabinet' jokes are (I for one will never tire of hearing them), Poch achieved at Spurs for sure. Trophies don't necessarily define achievements for managers, for me it's about what you can do with what you have and also how you get your team to play. He helped develop many players into some of the best in their position in the league at the time. He made Eric Dier and Danny Rose good for crying out loud! Poch did a tremendous job at Spurs.

Remember, you don't need trophies to be a winner and he is a winner! Right Toffees?

Ten Hag is surely the first progressive appointment United have made since Fergie left, right? Definitely need somebody like that. Someone with a clear vision of how his team wants to play and having the right players to do it or coaching them to fit that style. He needs those above him, whether that will be Rangnick or somebody else, to sing from the same hymn sheet too. Like Txiki at City. There has to be a clear collective objective, which there hasn't been at United.
