Ironic Indie Lad Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I have now finished my playthrough of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. What a game, what a story and what brilliant characters. I am really going to miss being in this world. I fully understand the acclaim of this game now. (94/100, universal acclaim on Metacritic) TIE Fighter your long reign is over. KOTOR is now my favourite Star Wars game of all time. Quote
TibBo Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Bit of a random one… my kid has been playing the new Monster Jam game and trying to unlock all of the variations of the trucks. He has completed one of the achievements which should have triggered the unlocking of one of the trucks but for some reason it hasn’t unlocked it (although you can see that the achievement is complete in the menu). Has anyone had anything like this before on PS4? It is like the game has glitched and forgot to award the achievement. I don’t really know what to suggest other than starting the game again and hoping it works this time, but that’s a bit drastic with the amount of hours he has put into it… Quote
Ironic Indie Lad Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Decided I needed a palate cleanser before KOTOR 2 so I have jumped back in to Vampire Survivors. It's just the best isn't it? Can feel myself becoming addicted again. Quote
Merzbow Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I managed to pick up a physical copy of Rage 2 for a quid and it's not too bad, like a mix of Far Cry and Mad Max and filled with slightly annoying quirky dialogue and swearing. A little bit of an open world game made by committee but with very solid gunplay.. might not ever play it till the end but it's fun enough for a bash. Quote

I still keep coming back to Brotato, probably because you can just have a quick 20 minute blast on it, or less if you're not great at it like I am. There's a lot of randomness involved, but it never feels like it's the game's fault when you die. Quote

I got this a while back and thought the shooting was absolutely spot on but everything else let it down. Quote
CAREBEAR LUVVA Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 (edited) The next Yakuza / Like A Dragon game has been revealed, and looks as mental as ever. It's still set in Hawaii (booooooo - it was nice for a one-off change of scenery but Japan is much better) but focuses on Goro Majima (hooray!). It seems like the combat might no longer turn-based (double hooray!), and it's out at the end of February so there's not too long to wait. Also, Samoa Joe. Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted September 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 22, 2024 What's the cheapest way to acquire Xbox game pass ultimate these days since they updated the price structure? Is there any work around like previous or am I looking at £60/70 for the year now? Cheers. Quote

It is not a direct match anymore. You now get 2/3 ratio. So two years Ultimate for your 3 years of codes. I think there is a cheaper way, buying codes on other sites from like Turkey or Argentina or something, then faffing around with VPN's but I couldn't be arsed. The CDKeys way has worked fine for me. Paid Members FLips Posted September 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 24, 2024 As part of the "FLips gets spooky" season I finally braved Resident Evil 7. It wasn't anything to write home about. It blows it's load in the first hour and then devolves into a generic shooter. The controls are clunky garbage. You can tell it was made for VR from how many of the scares are cheap jumping at the camera or something moving over your face. The grotty, sticky setting is very offputting. Some people I imagine love it but I was sick of the grey/black/brown colour palette and everything looking sticky very quickly. Not as good as people make it out to be. I think most the praise is because it wasn't Resident Evil 6. Quote
The Gaffer Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) I loved Resident Evil 7 but it might have been one you had to play at the time. It definitely benefits in direct comparison to its successor, but it's also the climate that 6 made. Resident Evil didn't really feel 'back' until REmake 2 so when this came out it took a lot of people by surprise. There was no real hype for this thing at all. Me and my housemates at the time chipped in and bought it the day it came out, took turns passing the controller around and finished it in one or two sittings. It was just so surprising that we were playing a mainline Resident Evil game that was somewhat fresh and very, very decent. They threw the kitchen sink in with Village and I didn't end up enjoying it as much. The front page coverage of most of it seemed to be that a tall, hot woman follows you around the gaf for most of the game, too, and it was gamer culture at its splurging worst. Merzbow Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 I love 7 to bits, again I wasn't expecting much as Resi was pretty much dead to me by then but the demo intrigued me and it ended up being what I'd say is the almost perfect modern AAA horror. I found it interesting in how it followed the first game almost beat for beat, while a very different game you can feel that it's the core they took from. Quote
