For me the absolute greatest assemblage of ambient music ever made has been re-released today. Such a gorgeous combination of simple and evocative. Some Future Sounds of London, Orb etc stuff knock on the door every now and then but the stuff here is untouched, I think.

Had it on during work today.

*Checks notes* no stillson 6 cirk and uh...T17 Phase out +3...are bops. There's a nice Analord series flow off the whole thing, halfway between his cleaner techno/ambient sound and the more abrassive stuff.

As is the case with a lot of his stuff I find myself questioning occasionally even as I'm listening to it "Would I think this was that good if anyone else put it out?" but I'm a fanboy and genuinely think there's an atmosphere there that's completely his so yeah, good shit.

So Ethel Cain decided to say fuck you to her record label and the last "EP" she was contracted to make is actually an 80+ minute drone/dark ambient/industrial album?

My partner's gotten me into a lot of Ulrich Schnauss lately.

We fall asleep to this one a fair bit, it's basically him making the soundtrack to a Ridge Racer game:

Thomas Bangalter appeared on stage last night to DJ for the first time in 16 years.

Set and timestamps in the comments.

Not off the official channel so expect it to be pulled so be quick. That Digital Love bit was quality.

Tracks one (the only one that works on any browser I can get my hands on) a really nice history of  electronic music this century although they've done the standard thing of trying to drive engagement with unusual picks for the top 10. They make a point of talking about picking tracks with longevity then pick super deep cuts for the top 10 (and for reference i'm a complete snob about electronic music so certainly not looking for big obvious top 10, more stuff that managed to join dots between the over/under ground or stuff that kinda transcended genres (like I'd say Easy Lee is a better Villalobos pick).

But got to resist arguing with a subjective list :D They're signposts for fun discoveries not declarations of taste

Definitely interested in the mixes one because that's the most interesting space to look at how sounds and subgenres were formed (from as heard on radio soulwax vol2 becoming the definitive idea of mashups to Weatherall laying out a blueprint for lowering the bpm of disco to Nicolas Jaar's arthouse mixes)

The entire soundtrack to Sirat (which is an excellent film) is terrific:-
