I only just realised, unless I'd forgotten (likely), that Euro 2020 is not being held in one country. What fucking plank came up with that idea?

Somebody schmoozing for votes from countries who'll never be able to host on their own.

I don't mind taking the game to a wider array of countries but there must be a better way. The Semis and Final being at Wembley just makes most of it pointless anyway.

Pretty sure if we win the group, we'll play the runner-up from the GROUP OF DEATH which will inevitably end in a penalty shoot-out defeat.

If we finish second, likely to be Sweden or Poland followed by the winner of the GROUP OF DEATH in the quarters which will inevitably end in a penalty shoot-out defeat.

Currently in Twitter jail for a week so can't retweet it, but I'd love to go to this match.  @Carbomb are these your boys (and can you recommend some reading on the islands and how the dirty Brits wronged your people)

Hey, Keith. Yeh, the Chagos Islands situation is to do with the UK basically handing over Mauritian territory to the US, with no remedy. Mainly because Mauritius is simply not powerful enough to cause either of them problems. Hell, they don't even have a military.

I'll try and get you some links tomorrow, but just Google "Diego Garcia" (it's the main one of the islands that had the most people displaced, and was turned into a US airbase). A plethora of articles will come up. I know quite a few people who were forced to emigrate as a result, and who have never given up on being allowed to go home. Sadly, I don't think anything will ever force the UK or US to make amends or even apologise - Cameron infamously refused to do so as PM. It's this kind of situation that epitomises to me the joke that international law is when it comes to countries that are too powerful to have any kind of sanction levelled against them.
