Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post on Sunday night and a link to the updated table will follow soon. ZKM decided to join us again and has given himself a fighting chance of not finishing last by being this round's best performer. There's still a lot of movement among 2nd to 5th place in the standings, so that means the race is definitely still on for the runners-up spot. Briefcase was the lowest scorer of those who took part this week. One of the contenders for that position is PRINCE2356, who won the FPL Cup final 10-7 this time out. Although he was fortunate to win his semi-final by default, before that he had to come through a qualifying round and then knock out the holder of the (virtual) trophy in the quarters. Stinky's defeat, meanwhile, shows just how tough it will be for anyone ever to do the double. However, his dominance in the league competition now puts him 73 points ahead. Since there are only 63 points up for grabs in the 'bumper' last round, I'm prepared to declare him the champion right now – but we'll save any fanfare for the final write-up after Week 40. Congrats, man. The average score in this last regular round was 7.18 points, which is higher than in most recent weeks. Crucial wins for Burnley and Swansea at one end of the table and Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal at the other all generally proved fruitful. The two triumphs by a single goal in Scotland also turned out surprisingly easy to foresee, whilst a rare reverse for Juve against one of their main title challengers was equally guessable beforehand, with the Old Lady of Italian football still fighting on three fronts. That said, a five-goal thriller in Florence and the comfortable margin of victory for Palace were not good for three-pointers. The 21-match card will be up in the original post shortly.
