Fog Dude
Right, Butch has shut down the 2016/17 discussion thread, so that means it's high time we wrap this one up too. The updated regular table has been in the original post for about a week already, but there's also a link to it here. Let's get the long overdue presentation of the FPL Cup trophy out the way as well. I can't seem to embed the picture of it anymore, unfortunately. I promise to engrave PRINCE2356's name underneath ultimo's on the plaque on the other side of plinth, though! Remarkably, there was no movement at all in the final standings despite all the extra points up for grabs on the last day. The average score was 14.5 points, which is about what you'd expect. There were only 6 points between the top scorers and worst performances, so scoring was pretty consistent. The five British teams who needed to win kept up their end of the bargain, so those matches were almost universally good for at least one-pointers. A few outcomes in France and Germany caught some people out, but the results in Spain generally proved fruitful. Exceptions to the above would be the easy-to-guess home win at the Stade Vélodrome and an away victory in the derby at the Mestalla. Most participants correctly foresaw that Atlético would win the last ever game at the Vicente Calderón. Despite missing some matches by picking late, champion Stinky Dad was not outright lowest scorer and managed to break to 400-point mark. A weekly average of over 10 points is pretty outstanding, to be honest. As the traditional end-of-season classification shows, Stinky got the most bonus points, but even without them he'd still have won the contest comfortably. However, runner-up Vegeta really does deserve a mention. He's run up against two extraordinarily consistent performances two seasons in a row. He must be feeling a lot like Spurs* right now! For the second successive campaign, he has the most one-pointers. If exact scores counted the same as correct results, he'd have strolled to the title (then again, I'd have finished a place lower according to that metric). His amount of bonuses contrasts with that of the eventual winner, mind. If we ignore ZMK's record because he skipped so many rounds, then PRINCE2356 actually becomes the player with the lowest number of right results on 161, with Grecian and Glenryck tied for the least successful three-point bets. Okay, I think that's everything. It's been a pleasure running this again. I hope we've sorted out any teething problems from the move to a single thread to cover the whole year. I'll start putting together a skeleton schedule for the next one soon in anticipation of the release of the fixtures in a few weeks. The sign-up thread will then appear towards the end of July, and all being well the set of 10 for the first card of the 2017-18 season should turn up in another new thread in the early hours of Wednesday, the 9th of August. In the meantime, relax and enjoy your summers. Or, you know, alternatively stress yourself out by following England's U20s against Costa Rica in Korea later, then the U21s in Poland, the women (and Scotland's!) in Holland and our Home Nation domestic sides in European qualifying rounds over the next 2 months. Whichever floats your boat, essentially. * [Yes, I know they only finished third in 2015/16, before anyone points that out.]

Stinky Dad
Cheers guys. Third league win for me (the previous two were under the guise of Stunstone316.) Already looking forward to next season - I'm planning on tweaking the squad to retain the title haha! Worked for me a few years back. The unsung champion again is FogDude, loads of work goes into this - massive props!
