4 4-Way Elimination Match

5 2 out of 3 Falls Match

7 2 on 1 Handicap Match

These made me chuckle. My brain was not alert enough not to read "44-Way Elimination Match", "52 out of 3 falls match" and "72 on 1 handicap match" - which would be a bit harsh really, unless it was 72 of Maxi Mini vs Goldberg.

I have Andre the Giant and Big John Studd main eventing on two different shows, one in Minnesota, one in Montreal (Jan 29th 1985). Seems unlikely?

Matinee and evening show? 2 shows per day at the weekend were a possibility

Minnesota is hardly around the corner from Montreal, though.

I agree that it's not ever so likely but hypothetically it's a 2 and a half hour flight from Minneapolis to Montreal, so it would be possible. Flair talks about doing that kind of thing in his book, I am sure it went on.

I agree though that it's not likely but it is possible.

Bobby Eaton was wresting in 1977!

That doesn't surprise me. Even on WCW TV in the early 90s he had that "been around a bit" vibe to him. The one that fried my brain was Dean Malenko made his debut in 1979. When he was one of the "bright new talents" that I became interested in watching on Nitro every week, he was approaching 40.

Surprised to see those seemingly massive matches in the middle of cards, was a "main event" as we see it now not a thing in those days? I thought maybe they were getting rushed off to headline another show but it's not the case here.

More than likely by having the "Main Event" in the middle of the card it means they can announce a rematch the next time they are in town with an added stip before the end of the current show and announce when tickets are on sale.

So without checking, the following show in New Haven would have probably had Boss Man v Hogan with no DQ or something similar

Hogan once said that the main eventers often got the option of wrestling in the middle of the card so that they could get back to their hotel before room service closed.

It could be bollocks, but there is something wonderful about Hogan going on fourth just so he can get back to the Premier Inn for a Lasagne.
