Are they at the point now where more people are going to be watching their TV in the UK than in the US? Might as well just move the promotion over here, or at least just do the TV tapings over here, keep the (rare) PPVs in the US.

We won't know until the first show airs, but TNA has not drawn a rating above 137,000 in the U.K. for the last 5 weeks. They are averaging 179,000 a week on Challenge for this year, which is 15% below what they averaged on Challenge last year (209,000). So their popularity in the U.K. has decreased.

So the bar is pretty low for Destination America to have more viewers than that. The top rated show on Destination America draws in around 400,000 viewers, so TNA should be able to get more than that. How much more, who knows.

Any news/speculation on what they're getting paid for the new deal?

No-one knows as yet, and nobodies reporting anything, but Destination America is a really minor channel, so it is very doubtful they have anywhere close to the same budget that Spike has. Discovery Communications is also worth considerably less than Viacom.

Less than Spike. Also a % of the agreement is going to the network management company they seem to be working with.

The viewership numbers will be less on this network than what they started with on Spike back in 2005.

Can anybody point me to a decision during the Dixie era which has improved the company long term? Since she suspended JJ it's been one shambles followed by another.

I think literally the only success she has had is increasing their U.K. tv viewership by signing a tv deal with a channel that is available in pretty much every home in the country (Challenge). But that's really the only thing, and as mentioned, their U.K. popularity has clearly waned this year with falling U.K. tv ratings. Anything positive when it comes to TNA is U.K. related, be it 'big' crowds for tv tapings and house shows, and spin off shows such as Bootcamp.

Wonder how much money that brings into the company, certainly not seeing the benefits of the increase since moving.

Almost certainly not enough to keep them alive on its' own, hence the desperation to get a U.S. tv deal.

TNA is such an odd business. No shame on a loss leader, but where's the profit? Eg break even or lose on TV with the knowledge you'll clean up at live events. Or lose on ticket sales knowing you'll shift a ton of merchandise.

Does it have a profitable part of the business?

They were doing well selling to foreign TV channels at one point.

Jesus, that's low rent.

The best thing TNA could do at this point is start over. New name, new everything. The fans who follow them already will understand why and the rest don't care anyway.

So in this week's Chronicles of Xplosion, we have new top babyface (pretty much) Rockstar Spud coming out to his old music, still announced as the Chief of Staff, and working heel against Mr Anderson.

Because TNA (tape months in advance & show these matches in no particular order)
