How often were Stone Cold and The Rock on the same house show cards after the Attitude Adjustment '99 tour?

Throughout April to July '99 there seemed an equal mix of shows with both and shows with only one of them, more often than not Rock. "Bigger" towns invariably got both. For instance Philadelphia on July 9 had both, whereas Evansville, IN only had The Rock. The cards were identical so Austin's opponent on the 9th, Triple H, also had the Evansville show off. This continues until late July when they realized Austin was hurt and he barely wrestled until SummerSlam. He then didn't wrestle again until No Mercy. He worked three house shows between No Mercy and Survivors on October 23rd, 24th and 30th (Rock also wrestled on all three) but then did not wrestle again after the November 2nd SmackDown taping.

Austin only wrestled on three house shows at the tail end of 2000, Rock present on none of them. Into 2001 Austin worked most house shows with Rock also appearing on the odd one. The ones Rock worked all had Austin on but he wasn't around much by the looks of things. They teamed up a few times, and on a Boston house show in February the main event was staggering - Austin, Rock, Undertaker and Kane vs Hunter, Benoit, Rikishi & Haku. Check the card out -

WWF @ Boston, MA - FleetCenter - February 11, 2001 (15,493)

(1) X-Pac pinned the Big Bossman with a roll up

(2) WWF European Champion Test pinned Albert with a boot to the face, despite interference from William Regal

(3) WWF Women's Champion Ivory pinned Molly Holly by holding onto Steven Richards for leverage

(4) The Acolytes defeated Val Venis & Steven Richards when Bradshaw pinned Richards with the Clothesline from Hell

(5) Lita, Matt & Jeff Hardy defeated Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, & Terri Runnels when Lita pinned Saturn with the moonsault

(6) WWF World Champion Kurt Angle (w/ Trish Stratus) pinned WWF IC Champion Chris Jericho with a low blow and the Olympic Slam

(7) Hardcore Holly defeated Steve Blackman, Al Snow, and WWF Hardcore Champion Raven to win the hardcore title by pinning Blackman

Al Snow defeated WWF Hardcore Champion Hardcore Holly to win the title after hitting him with Head

Raven pinned WWF Hardcore Champion Al Snow to win the title after a masked woman interfered on Raven's behalf

(8) WWF Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz defeated the Goodfather & Bull Buchanon following the 3D on Buchanon

(9) The Big Show defeated Billy Gunn

(10) Steve Austin, the Undertaker, the Rock, & Kane defeated Triple H, Chris Benoit, Rikishi, & Haku when the Rock pinned Benoit with the Rock Bottom

So until Mania the house show circuit was nearly always Austin and occasionally Rock too, with shows featuring neither headlined by Angle vs Jericho... except one show with a scheduled Benoit v X-Pac main event that ended up being Benoit v Justin Credible when X-Pac had transport problems, then transformed into a handicap match when Pac finally arrived. Benoit still won.

In 2002, Austin worked some house shows, and apart from the Asia tour, Rocky didn't. But I did find this gem I never knew about :

WWF @ Tampa, FL - March 1, 2002 (7,699)

Hulk Hogan pinned Rikishi with the legdrop

Being Hogan's hometown, Bubba the Love Sponge "wrestled" on the undercard.

So..... yeah. After July 1999 the two were rarely on the same house shows.

Nothing to do with Hogan. Bubba The Love Sponge wrestled for years every time the WWF came to Tampa. This was when Hogan was in WCW. He wrestled before the Survivor Series went on air in 2000 also. He was really good at promoting the WWF locally, thus they felt the need to keep him sweat by having him work in darks for the live crowd. In fact Hogan and Bubba became friends because WCW and the WWF would use Bubba to help out with local advertising and little gimmicks to push ticket sales.

EDIT: Didn't know he was in ECW as well. He's actually worked shows for WWF, WCW, ECW and TNA over the years. He's been around.

ECW @ Tampa, FL - Expo Park - July 10, 1999 (1,500)

Bubba the Love Sponge fought Bill Alfonso to a no contest in a streetfight

WCW @ Tampa, FL - Ice Palace - April 2, 1998

Malice at the Palace - Pay-per-listen Internet-exclusive audio show

Bubba the Love Sponge & Jim Duggan defeated the Texas Hangmen

WWF @ Tampa, FL - December 13, 1999 (13,826; sell out)

Jerry Brisco fought Bubba the Love Sponge to a draw when the Mean Street Posse interfered; after the bout, Bubba came to Brisco and Patterson's aid against the Posse and hit a Bubba Bomb (Vader Bomb) onto Pete Gas and pinned him in an impromptu match

WCW @ Tampa, FL - Ice Palace - April 18, 1999 (6,033 paid)

Jimmy Hart defeated Bubba the Love Sponge via disqualification

He's a good one for a trivia questions. Who wrestled for WCW, WWF and ECW in 1999? Bubba the Love Sponge.

Cheers, air_raid! It was more than I thought. I thought that after Rock turned face at Backlash, he'd be headlining one tour, with Austin doing the other. Were they mostly not running twice a night in those days?

I think they only expanded to 2 per night after the WCW acquisition except when half the roster was out of the country. Here's May '99 for you, appearances from either included :

WWF @ Anaheim, CA - Arrowhead Pond - May 1, 1999 (15,147; sell out)

WWF World Champion Steve Austin & the Rock defeated Triple H & the Big Bossman in a steel cage match after Austin executed the Stunner on Bossman

WWF @ Ft. Myers, FL - May 7, 1999 (7,234; sell out)

The Rock defeated Billy Gunn

WWF World Champion Steve Austin defeated the Big Bossman

WWF @ Tampa, FL - May 8, 1999

The Rock defeated Billy Gunn

WWF World Champion Steve Austin defeated the Big Bossman

(topical) Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco defeated Rodney & Pete Gas after Bubba the Love Sponge interfered

WWF @ Tallahassee, FL - May 12, 1999 (8,203)

The Rock defeated Billy Gunn

WWF @ Hershey, PA - May 13, 1999 (7,183)

The Rock defeated Billy Gunn

WWF @ Philadelphia, PA - First Union Center - May 14, 1999 (16,316)

WWF World Champion Steve Austin, the Rock, & the Big Show defeated Triple H, the Undertaker, & the Big Bossman

WWF @ Baltimore, MD - Arena - May 15, 1999 (12,020; sell out) (half the roster in England)

The Rock pinned the Big Bossman at 8:10 with the Rock Bottom and People's Elbow

WWF @ Richmond, VA - Coliseum - May 16, 1999 (10,712; sell out) (night of No, Mercy! in England)

The Rock defeated the Big Bossman

Amusing note - Ken Shamock vs 8-Ball went on last

WWF @ Chicago, IL - Rosemont Horizon - May 22, 1999 (sell out)

WWF World Champion Steve Austin, the Rock, & the Big Show defeated Triple H, the Undertaker, & the Big Bossman in a streetfight after Austin hit the Stunner on the Bossman

He wasn't making any money in the WWF at the time. A quick call to his buddy Hulk and everything was solved.

How long did the "Old Age Outlaws" stick around for in WCW? What an idea.

Did Bobby Eaton's WCW "Midnight Express"-esq theme in 1991 have a bit at the beginning that started off "BOBBY! BOBBY! BOBBY!"? Am I hearing things? What was the point of that if it was piped in?
