I've just rewatched The Giant vs Loch Ness (AKA Giant Haystacks) in WCW.

What was the deal with Haystacks being in WCW, both real life and storyline?

Did he sign a contract? Was there a story revolving around Haystacks?

I want to say he got hired around the same time they brought in Finlay and David Taylor. It might have been separate, tad unsure actually. I believe though he left because his wife had cancer. His run was barely 2 months tops.

He came in to be Hogan's next Dungeon of Doom conquest, but his cancer diagnosis (and, probably, his absolutely dire performances upon arrival) put a stop to that and he was written out fairly quickly.

I had a discussion on here a while back on the same subject and there was no definite story behind how he ended up being hired, but it was around the same time Fit Finlay, Dave Taylor, Robbie Brookside and Doc Dean were brought in so I always assumed Regal had something to do with it.

Taker claimed it in a TSN (Canadian sports channel) TV interview. It's clearly not true he was standing by the curtain taping his fists as they show Michaels walking from the dressing room on the PPV.

Yeah, Taker's words in that interview were "let's just say it would've been a long night for him". I suppose it's entirely possible that Taker went to Gorilla after Shawn made his entrance, hence Shawn's writing that it's not true in his book - he wouldn't have known. One of the stories I'd heard about it (maybe Foley's book) was that Taker was standing in Gorilla with his fists taped, Shawn took the fall and Taker walked back to his dressing room.

Did the police ever catch the guys who cut off Messiah's thumb?

They never did. Must have been a super professional and careful operation if they never got caught, considering America's Most Wanted named Rob Black as the person that everyone thought was behind it.

Speaking of which Rob Black is back. He does a blogtalkradio show during the week. He's still a fucking moron, but his stuff about his involvement in XPW and ECW are canny interesting. He's got that "to stupid to be lying" vibe about him, so his stories are interesting. He's just unbearable at times.

He's skint now. Lives above a strip club and is behind on the rent. Yet he's starting XPW up again. No idea how he's meant to do that, like. Unless he's exaggerating how on his arse he actually is for some reason. I hope so for their case. The only thing XPW had going for it was that it had the backing of a porn kingpin and could splash the money about. XPW without the money behind is more worthless than it was (if thats possible).

He'll go back to the porn, I would imagine. His name alone will get him a lot of talent working for him. Presumably he won't be dopey enough to try any of the Extreme Associates shit again, but I could see him doing some sleazy 'audition tape' stuff and making a packet.

XXXPW - A Porn Parody. Two blokes break into Messiah's house and use his thumb as a makeshift dildo on Veronica Caine as Kid Kaos wanks his cock.

Vic Grimes takes a giant fall from a scaffold and awakes in hospital to the noise of Homeless Jimmy and Pogo The Clown in a threeway with Kristi Myst while Supreme films the action.
