He handles defeat well now

You not seen him on Instagram? Always posts a story after a defeat and makes excuses. Can’t just say his opponent was better. It’s always about the crowd, how he was better but missed things etc. He’s a terrible loser.

Nijman had a nightmare, a shame hes out. Soutar missed a double to lead 2-0 in sets, even with GVV averaging 105 at the time. After that, it was one way traffic from GVV, and he had the best performance so far in the tourney.

Wade and Evans had the match of the tourney so far too. Was a belter. Proper tense at the end, and I fully expected Wade to show his bottle and win it, but Evan's did really well to keep fighting and win. Top stuff.

Sky saying Peter Wright suffers a shock exit. Anyone who’s watched him this year would know it was going to happen as he’s been playing dreadful and on a massive decline. He claimed he was going to win it, in typical deluded Wright fashion. A fantastic visual of him going out again.

Yeah I forgot to say about that, a cracker. Nopert hit some phenomenal check outs. I think there was a 167 when it was a must win leg. Belter of a game

My mind is a bit fried from the Christmas period, but I think that whole afternoon session was a cracker too, there was at least one other great game that session too.

When a game gets to the 'needs to win by 2 legs' stage, the tension and stress becomes insane. Always produces great drama, as literally every dart matters at that point.

I’m glad they’ve brought it straight into the early rounds. Having to wait for I think it was the third round, and miss out on that tension, was always so disappointing. Even if the game has been a bit crap, everyone loves it going to sudden death.

Couple of exciting days since the Christmas break. Littler is looking in scary form. Dealt with Mensur easily. Both Heta and Schindler shat the bed in their matches. Schindler in particular was awful, but fair play to Searle, he played very good. Humphries showed some class, as he squashed the comeback of Clemens very well. Anderson/Wattimena had an absolute belter of a match, which was the polar opposite of the Gilding/Woodhouse one from the day before, which was appalling. Bunting had to scrap hard as he wasnt playing great, but it wasnt enough.

Seems like the afternoon sessions have been having the better of the matches most days. There has been a cracker in the afternoon session a good few times, even going back to R1 matches.

Tapped out after Evans vs Manby. Glad to see Hood through, and Manby had some amazing scoring at times, but Evans disintegrating on stage wasn’t a pleasant sight. Will catch up on the Aspinall game later.

Anderson was brilliant. Haven’t seen him play like that since the Grand Slam semi final in ‘24. Also great effort from Clemens, really pushed Humphries.

Nathan Aspinall always has X-Pac ‘go away’ heat in my house, so terrific scenes.

Think we may see a Ricky Evans heel turn and in 12 months he’ll be throwing like Terry Down.

Really enjoyed Littler turning heel on the crowd at the end there. I don’t care what nationality you are, you need to have a word with yourself if you’re chanting Rob Cross’s name.

Felt bad for Rydz, he obviously didn’t want to be up there tonight, but his and Rock’s 9 dart attempts were great to watch.

Word is it was a German heavy crowd who Littler doesn’t get on with since he played over there against Schindler and they were on his case and he made some comments. He didn’t play at his best and was still a monster. That was probably his C Game. Boys incredible.

I thought Rydz and Rock would go to a tied set at least. Lovely fast paced game until Rydz fell apart.

Yeah, I havent seen a meltdown like that Evans one for a long time. He completely lost in during the match, and couldnt recover. What was crazy was that he was only one break behind at that point, and was still well into the match. Crazy stuff.

Cross did alot better than I thought to be fair. Cant remember the specifics, but Im sure he missed darts for a set at one point, which would have made the whole thing even more interesting. Searle looked great again. Woodhouse may be my least favourate player left now, so will probably give his match a skip on the replays today. Apart from that, its looking like a load of belting matches throughout the afternoon and evening.
