  1. They start off as journalists until they realise there's no money in it so they become polemicists. That said, I don't think Dave Meltzer has ever been a journalist. He's an op-ed writer and historian.
  2. My main takeaway from the interview, which I enjoyed a lot, was that CM Punk doesn't understand what a loaded question is.
  3. If they can't drag an iota of entertainment out of Kross in a mad clusterfuck street fight then maybe they'll get the hint.
  4. I want that jumper.
  5. Two old likeable problematic lads being pleasant.
  6. Just noticed that Femme has been added to Netflix. Great film, a perfect anxiety inducing gay companion to All of Us Strangers for people who don't want to be cheered up.
  7. This is why I need someone other than Butch to watch On Cinema on here because my Gregg Turkington / VFA reference will mean nothing to anyone.
  8. They definitely know. Graves especially often talks about how much of an upside he has and how the sky's the limit with him. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a singles shove before the end of the year.
  9. I *think* you can contact the airline beforehand and tell them about the situation and they might be able to provide you with help and support on the flight for those parts. Might depend on the airline though, but worth tagging them on Twitter and see what they say.
  10. United don't have the players to do that and that's partially ten Hag's fault. United should be playing Route One.
  11. I'm not sure I've seen a more miserable game of football all season than City vs Arsenal yesterday. Absolutely nothing going for it. Contrast that with the pace and flair of Liverpool vs Brighton. Guardiola and Arteta's styles dictating the direction of how the modern game is played is shudder-inducing. It's not just Liverpool who are going to miss Klopp, the whole league is.
  12. Godzilla Ă— Kong: The New Empire (cinema) Fine. Completely lacking in anything memorable or distinguishable but a just above average time, so I'll take it. Also, pixie cut Rebecca Hall. Exhuma (cinema) Completely and totally mad Korean modern day folk horror film. It's half an hour too long but the first half of it especially is fantastic. A great surprise. Running Scared (1986) They don't pay me no mooooore. Molli and Max in the Future Cute sci-fi romcom, one for the When Harry Met Sally lovers out there. Not sure if the sci-fi elements add much but I really like Zosia Mamet and I liked this quite a bit. The Blackening Pretty crap. Doesn't work as a comedy or a horror film. What did people expect from Tim Story anyway, he fucking blows. Bend It Like Beckham (Film 4) Fine, I guess. I'd seen all the best bits before (pixie cut Keira Knightley in football shorts) so this didn't feel essential. Convoy Sam Peckinpah does Smokey and the Bandit and does it really well! Far funnier than I was expecting, a great diner brawl and some excellent road smashes. Very my thing. Arrival (Netflix) Still really, really good, this. In danger of becoming Villeneuve's forgotten sci-fi film but it's better than both Dune films, as good as they are.
  13. I thought it was this weekend. If we average things up between us, we're right.
  14. They've got to be careful with whatever feud they give her first though. It has to be against someone who wouldn't be damaged by losing to her but who might be perceived a credible threat. Who that would be, I've no idea, they're so bad at building up threats as has been evidenced in Ripley's title run.
  15. This is gonna be one of those threads that I think about posting in loads of times and then, eventually, when I'm absolutely in the right/wrong mood to do so, go for it. Stay tuned?
  16. This is great. The low-res picture. Refusing to tag her. Turning off replies. Making it sound like she's got a contract out on her. Outstanding work.
  17. I watched the Punk/Rollins/McIntyre segment finally and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't go as far to say it was one of the greatest segments in the history of our great sport or any of that but for a semi-shooty threeway angle where one of the people can't get physically involved, it was a lot of fun. The dynamic between the three is fascinating, too. Rollins and Punk actually hating each other, Punk and McIntyre doing a great job of making it look like that's the case, and Rollins and McIntyre somehow cobbling together a chemistry that makes their match seem like a big deal now. It's making for an unpredictable situation because of how it's slightly interacting with the Bloodline/Cody stuff and also in terms of what will happen in the match. In terms of selling angles and the match, it was exactly what was needed. I think all three of them pushed the boat out a bit too much with one or two things they said, but that's par for the course with wrestling now. It was about as good as anybody could reasonably ask for and Rollins is being dragged up to the level of Cody, Reigns, Punk and McIntyre whether he likes it or not. It feels like there's actual unpredictability with every big match they're doing this year. They've done some excellent work recently across the board. Everything is utterly chaotic and mad and it should be.
  18. Bit of a local one but I know a couple of regulars on here are visitors to HOME in Manchester, but I ain't one of them anymore.
