Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted May 2 Posted May 2 2 names i know solely from here and not the pleasure of knowing away from here, but love reading how well they were thought of. RIP chaps Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted May 2 Paid Members Posted May 2 Moj truly posed a lot of people off with his abrasiveness, but was always lovely with me and a very funny chap. Is there any way to get the Shitarse 50 pinned? An absolute classic. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted May 2 Paid Members Posted May 2 Moj MCd the last match I ever had. I had a great chat with him that night, I really liked the guy. Quote
Paid Members JNLister Posted May 2 Paid Members Posted May 2 I don't know how you can sum him up. It seems inappropriate to say he was incredibly offensive online and often drunkenly loud in person, but if you described him without saying that, he'd call you out on talking shit. That said, he'd also probably not be too happy if you called him warm, kind or loyal to his friends, but it's still entirely true. I have no doubt he made many other people's lives better in far more important ways, but for me, it's as simple as the fact that him being at a wrestling show made being at that wrestling show better. Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted May 2 Awards Moderator Posted May 2 3 hours ago, Jambo said: Remember the days of him wishing cancer upon Drew McDonald Thank you for unlocking a memory for me. I was sat with him, probably Stew and a couple of others watching an FWA show at York Hall. A secret partner was announced for a match, and yes you guessed it, it was Drew Mcdonald. He very loudly shouted "OH FUCK THIS" and stormed out of the building. I didn't see him again for the rest of the night. Apparently he just got on a London bus and rode around for a bit. Worked the gimmick, that one. Quote
Paid Members choccy Posted May 3 Paid Members Posted May 3 How sad. I didn’t know Moj but I remember his posts of course. Thoughts are with those that did know him. What an awful week. Quote
RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted May 3 Posted May 3 What a sad way to end the weekend with another forum legend passing, always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder (though I never had crossed words with him) but will forever have the Shitearse 50 as his legacy RIP Moj, sleep well my man Quote
HandsomeButchIII Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Moj was well known and respected in wrestling in Wales as an MC. RIP. I bet Wade Barrett is gutted. He was involved when Mike Bird was, and the people he trained went to do great things. Quote
AshC Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Ah man... for whatever reason, I genuinely didn't think to post my Moj thread in Off-Topic, how nice to find all these other memories. And yeah, he did some cool gigs for 4FW in Swindon as an announcer, we were discussing the other week about Dick Togo's billed UK retirement match where he donned the crimson mask, a memorable one! Blimey, there's a memory unlocked, I think Moj took a chairshot and bled on a Welsh show as well once! 😂 Quote
Arthur B. Funky Posted May 21 Posted May 21 This one came as a bit of a shock earlier, not least because he was considerably younger than I had him at in my mind; thought we were of a similar age. It was me that introduced him into the world of ring announcing/MCing for UCW in Trowbridge, for Gareth Humphreys (aka Gangster) WAY back in the early-2000s. We did a few trips together, always me driving, but he was as funny as fuck on our various sojourns ... He relentlessly ripped the piss out of as many as he could, & loads of workers got upset with him, but he couldn't have given any less fucks AND THEY STILL PAID HIM! He also did a semi-infamous open air show for EPWE in Margam Park at a biker rally, as I recall, where Ruff Ryder was kidnapped in a car, & was ne'er seen again that whole weekend! The Shitarse 50 was his conception, & he worked with a majority of his list ... Nos da MOJ! Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted May 21 Paid Members Posted May 21 (edited) I was working a show with Matt Menza when Moj posted his entry as part of the 50, which was mostly about how dull he was. One of the lads wrote BORING on a sheet of A3 in marker pen and we waved it out the locker room window at him while he had his match. I don't think he was massively happy with it.
