Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted Sunday at 02:19 PM Awards Moderator Posted Sunday at 02:19 PM If the women’s B&G gives us more Statlander vs Lena Kross, I’m all for it. Those two battering each other with the force of Storm This-Week’s-One against our roof was the highlight of Collision this week. Quote

Paid Members LaGoosh Posted Sunday at 07:04 PM Paid Members Posted Sunday at 07:04 PM Jay White would be a good promo if he would condense it a bit. He's always taken five sentences to say something he could say in one. I'm unsure about this new group. Juice Robinson looks fairly lost out there and The Gunns are a brilliant babyface duo. Just feels like the wrong time to turn them heel when the Bang Bang Gang never really hit the heights they could have as a babyface group. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM Turning the BBG heel feels to me like a reaction to the Death Riders, becoming face by default following recent events. Starting a new big faction war on the eve of B&G without them being in an actual match feels off, though. Overall a fun show. Lena Kross going goth after getting the mist, is the kind of goofy pro wrestling continuity that I love. Divine Dominion Vs. Wrathlander, was a cracking TV match. Even the non finish didn't bother me. As long as the matches are good, I can just about forgive B&G becoming an annual thing. And like @HarmonicGenerator I'm well up for more of Statlander and Kross battering each other. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM Paid Members Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM (edited) FTR, man. I love watching them wrestle. They are so smooth and perfectly in sync with one another while also being totally believable. Their work is so tight and convincing. Just a joy to watch them in the ring. Either book something properly for it or don't do it. It shouldn't be just an annual thing for the sake of it. And I'd much prefer if they just did the one rather than two. One of my few nitpicks on Dynamite was Thekla being a heel when she's awesome and the crowd love her and it was just to set up this rubbish. I blame all of those fuckers who cry constantly about equality and TK for being a fanny and ceding to them. Have some backbone. You've booked six years of Dynamites with barely any having two women's matches. Don't start pretending you're Stephanie McMahon, the founder of women's professional wrestling. The women deserve a great spot on every show. They don't need a B&G match just because. Quote

He's always taken five sentences to say something he could say in one. This is a brilliant summary of Jay White's heel mic work. He also has a tendency to say something, seemingly finish his thought but add another few words at the end that extends the sentence unnecessarily. He also brought elements into his promo I felt detracted from it. The misogynistic comment about Marina Shafir completely undercut her at a time she didn't really need it. She's feuding with Mercedes Mone right now, so you don't need someone telling her to drop the 'act' and smile more. The reason Marina works so well is that she doesn't feel like an act, she's genuinely terrifying and everyone has treated her as such - face or heel. It's the cheapest of cheap heat. The Last Outfit was a terrible name that made little sense, The Cut is equally bad. What does it even mean? 17 hours ago, LaGoosh said: FTR, man. I love watching them wrestle. They're great, I don't think they've ever had a bad match in AEW, and they've had great matches against teams you wouldn't think were capable of that. I do wish they'd do something different with a best of five series or two out of three falls every so often, and have someone win in a clean sweep rather than split it evenly. Watching FTR cope with that kind of defeat would have been really interesting given how dominant they typically are. Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted Monday at 06:06 PM Paid Members Posted Monday at 06:06 PM I'm guessing the perceived need for a name change to begin with is a desire to entirely separate from anything in any way derivative of a NJPW trademark/creation? Else you'd have just stuck with Bang Bang Gang, right? It's not like that name is so entranced in "babyface" you couldn't stick with it? And whilst I don't think I'd have said this about Switchblade until a few months ago, yeah... it's a shame they've turned that lot heel in the first place as every one of them is better as a babyface. The King Of Swing Posted Monday at 07:41 PM Posted Monday at 07:41 PM Let's be honest, Bang Bang Gang was also a pretty lame name. Quote
Chili Posted Monday at 09:15 PM Posted Monday at 09:15 PM El Hijo del Firm would have been my choice depending how this turns out for them. Agree that I found them more interesting now as a babyface squad. Quote
Joe Blog Posted Monday at 09:36 PM Posted Monday at 09:36 PM I liked the Bang Bang Gang until Juice went serious and they added Ace. The Guns and Juice being daft idiots was the best part of them as a unit. Can’t see it working as a serious group. Quote
