Yep! I did a thread on Twitter that I need to salvage now that I don't have an account on there, of the oldest wrestlers to ever compete, largely inspired by Dory Funk Jr working a deathmatch for Onita at 83 years old. The other wrestlers in the match were 66 year old Atsushi Onita, 61 year old Raijin Yaguchi, and Osamu Nishimura, several months into his fight with stage-four cancer.

Eddie Kingston wrestled Sid Vicious once, and I find that kind of mindblowing.

Kingston spoke about that match on a shoot interview. In the locker room before the match Sid was having a huge blazing argument with the promoter about his payoff for the night, then halfway through he turned to Eddie and said "You! 2 minutes. Chokeslam. Powerbomb and we're done" Eddie replied "yes, sir" and then Sid carried on yelling at the promoter.

possibly the same interview, but I've heard Eddie talk about that match as changing his attitude on wrestling too - he had always had the mentality of "you never know who's watching, so you always have to get your shit in, in case this is the match that gets you signed", and Sid was probably the biggest name he had ever wrestled, so he had a ton of ideas for what he wanted the match to be. But afterwards, he realised that sometimes all you need is two minutes, Chokeslam, Powerbomb.

Just watching Survivor Series 2000 and K-Kwick (R-Truth) is in an elimination match. So strange seeing him team with Chyna and wrestle Benoit and Guerrero. Is he the last wrestler from the kinda Attitude Era still in the WWE and still wrestling?

Yes, if you don’t count the occasional Trish or Hardy Boys in NXT.

Depends. There’s an argument that Attitude ended at Mania 17 and summer 2002 is very firmly “Ruthless Aggression.”

Yeah, to be honest my question mark was me wondering if him being in WCW during the Attitude Era would count.

If we have to put cut-offs on "eras", I would definitely cap the Attitude Era at Wrestlemania 17, or Invasion at the latest. There's a lot of the same tropes hanging around after that, but I got back into watching wrestling in the summer of 2000, and even then I felt like the Attitude Era was something I had missed out on, that it was already over - possibly not having Stone Cold around for a long time added to that feeling. 

 

So by those terms, by what I would consider to be the Attitude Era, Ron Killings would be the only guy active in WWE who was there during the arse end of it, while Rey was active at the height of the Attitude Era but in WCW, and AJ Styles managed to land in WCW at the very tail end of the Attitude Era. 

It's interesting, given how long WWE are absolutely beholden to Attitude Era nostalgia, that they finally seemed to have moved beyond it - even in terms of non-wrestling on-screen talent now, it's really just Michael Cole, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Paul Heyman and Booker T still knocking about on a regular basis.

 

Whereas in AEW you have Dustin Rhodes, Billy Gunn, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, and (if he's still around) Chris Jericho, with Paul Wight, Jim Ross, Taz, and Carlos Cabrera knocking about out of the ring, and Sting and Tony Schiavone as WCW guys of similar vintage, and TNA have got the Hardys, so AEW are the most Attitude Era-coded promotion around now.

RVD faced Stan Hansen in a tag team match. It was RVD and Sabu vs Hansen and Takao Omori back in 1997. 

Hansen and RVD also teamed together in 1993 against Kenta Kobashi and Toshiaki Kawada.

Both in AJPW. Still wild to me that Hansen and RVD crossed paths is 1997.
