WrestleMania matches you forgot ever happened.

Was watching Mania 37 and on came a match I had 0 recollection of.

 

Billie Kay and Carmella vs Lana and Naomi

 

It was the first match of the Women's Turmoil match for the #1 Contendership for the Women's Tag Titles. Natalaya and Tamina won, meaning Tamina got to wrestle on both nights of WrestleMania.

On a similar note of women's matches -  Leilani Kai vs Alundra Blayze at Wrestlemania X. Zero recollection of this one.

Looking through the cards, one match stands out to me - Braun Strowman vs Shane McMahon in a steel cage match at Wrestlemania 37. The stipulation alone means I should remember it, but I don’t. I can’t remember them feuding, the steel cage match itself, whether it was any good - it’s an odd one.

Was watching Wrestelmania 2000 and this card has a few - can you imagine opening Wrestlemania with a random tag match? Do you remember D-Lo Brown being a pimp in training and Godfather wrestling in Velvet trousers? Do you remember them putting Bull Buchanan over on commentary like he  was a future hall of famer and not just a repackaged member of the Truth Commission? 

The answer to all of those is probably no ... but it happened Bull Buchanan and Big Bossman vs D'Lo and Godfather. Also it was ok.

I was just reminded that apparently the main event of only 4 years ago was Reigns vs Edge vs Bryan.

Nope, no idea.

Everything after around Wrestlemania 24 for me turns into a fog soup except that XXX because of the Bryan Danielson story. I had to look up just then what number this year's is.

I refuse to believe this! I have zero recollection. 

I was looking through Mania cards the other day, as this year's is far looking like having zero gimmick matches (ignoring multi-mans and battle royals) and thought it would be an interesting statistic how long ago the last gimmick-free Mania was. Turns out it was only as far back as 34, so not that interesting.

But I'd forget Undertaker picked up his last WrestleMania win there, against Cena, and how utterly disappointing it was.

WWE just uploaded Seth/Cody vs Rock/Roman which it turns out happened less than a fucking year ago. Absolutely nothing from me. Not a second of it. I'm typing this out now remembering the Rock was dragging Cody round a car park by the arse of his kecks, calling his mum a boiler and wiping his bleeding arse on a weightlifting belt but not a fucking second of this all star tag match. Was it night 1? I'm honest to god astounded at remembering it suddenly.

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango, Chris hated it too. Amazing. Fandango went over clean as a whistle.

Similarly to Chili I could name most the card from Mania 13-24 but everything before and after that might as well have been a dream outside of the marquee matches.
