For years Scott was seen as the lunatic of the two, and I’m not saying he’s an angel, but I think Rick is clearly the bigger prick. He seemed worse for taking liberties with opponents, especially jobbers, and even in more recent years there was that incident at a convention where he shouted abuse at a trans woman wrestler who’s name I can’t remember. Sadly, the stories that came out over the years revealed they were always bullies. But you’d hope they’d at least mellow out and mature as they get older. Scott hopefully did to some extent. Rick clearly never did. Which is even worse when you consider that wasn’t/isn’t he a fucking school teacher? Quote
Chico Torres Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I actually think Rick was one of the highlights of late stage WCW (it’s all relative but…). He had an entertaining team with our boy Sid and had a streak of a few weeks where was unprofessionally but entertainingly stiffing the shit out of people. He beat the shit out of Lash Leroux, Chase Tatum and Konan. What makes it compelling is just how nonchalant he is and it’s chaos era WCW so no one is going to stop him and it serves no purpose. Quote

Those late era bits with Konnan and Lash are just incredibly uncomfortable because it's not like they've dicked him about and it's those professional receipts, he's just taking advantage of them like a right shit. I see him as a right detrimental presence after his return in 1999, he just seemed to lose whatever he had left before his 1998 injury. It's absolutely bizarre how suddenly anachronistic the transphobe feels after just being off TV for 6 months. Quote

He was killing them poor sods on a regular basis in the early to mid 90s. Gotta say though, as much as I’m a fan of that part of Vader’s career, that little period when he started adding a bit of purple to his gear never sat right with me. Like when Bret added the orange trim to his gear at Survivor Series 96, it just didn’t look right at all. Something about the purple Vader just made him less scary to me. Like when King Kong Bundy came back in 95 and he had eyebrows. Shite. Couple of oddities in this video. The opening match against Rip Rogers, he's a babyface! I don't remember him being a babyface at any point in WCW. Then at 14:42 he busts out a sunset flip for absolutely no reason whatsoever. 10/10. Quote
