This is just my random thought - but with the rumored Fox show, I wonder is there a likelihood that Mox takes the belt to the new show or something like that. He alludes to some kinda higher power too - maybe something with Shane McMahon.

Good to see Kevin Owen's buddy Ricky get a security gig at the end there.

I felt sorry for Mariah May in the post match "scrum." They kept asking for questions and getting hairy arsed blokes looking at the floor, so she just left. At least pretend to give a fuck and ask her who she wants to fight next or some shite. Totally made her look a right gonk.

Good show for the most part. My two penneth:

- whenever I see the Dynamite set at a PPV my heart sinks. Get some PPV sets! I really liked the woods, mountains, waterfalls on the graphics - they should have put up fake trees or something on the ramp or something. Really lean into the theme. Bring back goofy fun 90s entrance sets!

- Hangman/White was very good. Hangman might be the best in ring heel worker in the business right now. Booking wise though not sure how you go from a main event win to losing the opener in less than 2 months. Classic AEW not striking while the iron is hot booking. Hangman should be top of the card!

- Willow/Mariah was match of the show, fucking brilliant action. Tragic that this had a one week story going into it. Give it 6-8 weeks and I would genuinely want them to main event a PPV with these two. Feels like magic between them and they should build the division around a feud between them. 10/10.

- Shibata/Perry was exactly the match Perry should be wrestling with these new character. Getting the shit beat out of him and only getting any offense in via cheating, corner cutting and sneaky shenanigans. Never wrestle like you did against Danielson again, Jack. This was the good stuff and what he should always be doing.

- 3 way was excellent if you like that sort of thing. Takeshita's forearm strikes are things of beauty. Like shotguns going off. The right winner but wish it had been clean and dominant. 

- lots of angles! Garcia/MJF/Cole, Swerve/MVP and the Fletcher turn were all great but I wish they saved this stuff for Dynamite rather than PPV. PPV should be about big matches, save your exciting angles and segments for TV. That's what it's for!

- Hologram vs Mortos was a perfectly fine Collision match that somehow ended up on PPV. The ceiling on Hologram is so low I'm not sure why they're bothering. He's perfectly fine as a 5 minute hot tag guy in a trios match on Collision - there's nothing more to get out of him. Mortos is the best and should be winning more.

- Darby/Brody was predictably nutty and violent. Loved it. Another match that deserved a longer story going on. These two always produce gold together. Could watch Brody swatting Darby out the air over and over all day long.

- HOOK won a six month feud with Jericho but it's Jericho getting a PPV title singles match and HOOK wasn't even booked. No matter how good anything they do is there's a Jericho stink on the cards which is massively killing the vibe. Skipped the ROH title match. Briscoe deserves more than this.

- I don't like Private Party so didn't watch this. The tag division is so cold right now. They need new Champs, at least four new teams and to ditch most the other teams.

- the main was a brutal, rough, intense and gripping match. I'm torn because I desperately want a heel Hangman on top with the title but also this BCC story is really intriguing. I like that AEW is leaning into uncomfortable violence and a more serious tone. The new BCC are very believable as dangerous and ruthless bastards. One of the final shots being Darby, OC, Garcia and Hook felt like a promise of the future. 

An underwhelming build to this show but I don't see how anyone could be disappointed after watching it.

Mortifying. She deals with it really well though, good on her.

Who the fuck is getting accreditation for these stupid scrums and why do they keep having them anyway? Outside of stoned Cody and Jey, and CM Punk and his muffin, they are the crappest new thing in wrestling in forever.

@Hannibal Scorch Do you mean the whole show including zero hour was 39 minutes longer than bad blood or just the main show? WWE ppvs aren't really relevant to this topic so dont want to talk to much about bad blood. It does seen to me though that aew ppvs are very long. It can mean that the crowds are tired by the end of the event which can affect the atmosphere.

Never quite got into it. Turned out to be what many expected. Danielson went out the way he probably wanted to go for this run. Fingers crossed he comes out healthy with whatever works needs done, so that it is just a full-time retirement. Give him another 20 years he'll be making the Ricky Steamboat type appearances. 

This is a very minor thing about the ending. There's the refs. There's Private Party and then there's the sea of black tshirts and trousers. Between the medical and security amongst the good guys it wasn't always obvious who was in there. Could easily slap 'Security' on the back of HOOK's baggy plain black T and no one would know he's meant to be a star. Kinda sums up how I feel about AEW right now. However, good it maybe so little stands out.

Got a real run up to Full Gear. A complete set of heel champions. Hopefully they've got something planned that will change things up.

Really? I was thinking Mercedes looses the tbs in a triple threat match but doesn't get pinned then wins the world title ?

I think it's been better since they turned her heel. Her promos felt so robotic but when she's a heel it feels like that roboticness is part of the act. Like she's doing it to be irritating so it works better for me. I'd like to see willow win the title was gutted she didn't. She's one of my favourite female wrestlers ever.

I was thinking that Toni Storm would end up winning the TBS title at Grand Slam Australia. I know its not the more prestigious title, but Toni Storm v. Mercedes Mone does feel like something that could main event or be sold as a main event locally.

I don't think the Toni/Mariah story really needs the belt but can't say I agree with this or understand why you think it. Mariah's getting plenty of TV time and convincing wins. The company seems behind her. As they should be  - she's very good.
