THE MAIN EVENT
The second part of a British Isles tour has Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa for the title continue 3rd-6th in Dublin, London, Nottingham and Sheffield, now downgraded from cage match to streetfight.
THE CARD
It's a SmackDown crew as the Raw lot are busy earning the blood money (see below). It's Nia Jax vs Bayley inside the cage for the Womens title and usually LA Knight vs Carmelo Hayes for the UST after Hayes wins a contenders match against Andrade earlier on the show. There's more of Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano vs Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa and Naomi vs Tiffany Stratton, plus Street Profits vs Pretty Deadly and Michin & B-Fab vs Piper Niven & Chelsea Green.
VARIANT
In Dublin only it's a seven-match card with Knight vs Hayes vs Andrade as a triple threat.

MAIN EVENTS - NXT
Plenty of shows to make up for last month. 2nd in Orlando its Ethan Page, Ridge Holland & Wes Lee vs Trick Williams, Dante Chen & Je'Von Evans. 15th in Dade City Trick and Andre Chase beat Holland & Lexis King, next night in Tampa its Williams vs Lee for the title. 22nd in Lakeland Williams & Evans beat Holland & Brooks Jensen, finally 23rd in Jacksonville Trick teams with Channing Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger to beat Wolfgang, Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price.
CARDS - HIGHLIGHTS
A huge 11 matches in Orlando include Nathan Frazer & Axiom vs Tavion Heights & Myles Borne and Tony D'Angelo vs Brooks Jensen for the respective belts, Stephanie Vaquer & Giulia vs Jazmyn Nyx & Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs vs Ashante Adonis and Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs Bronco Nima & Lucien Price. In Dade City, there's mixed action with Channing Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino & Adriana Rizzo vs Borne, Heights & Wren Sinclair, Charlie Dempsey vs Oro Mensah vs Eddy Thorpe, Giulia & Lola Vice beating Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade and Vaquer beats Lainey Reid. With Friday 1st SmackDown taped last month, the blood money PPV in Riad on 2nd is our first show to cover. Champion vs Champion matches from the two brands see Cody beat Gunther and Liv Morgan beat Nia for the pointless "Crown Jewel" belts, a Bloodline Civil War I don't remember (because I didn't watch it?) where Solo, Tonga and Jacob Fatu beat Roman Reigns & The Usos, and Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill retain their tag titles in a four-way. Next night they stay in Riad to tape Monday's Raw, nothing dark. 8th SmackDown in Buffalo, there's Apollo Crews vs Giovanni Vinci for the opener, Motor City Machine Guns watch - they beat Austin Theory & Grayson Waller on the show proper, then dark Cody/Jey/Sami Zayn beating Hayes/Bron Breakker/Ludwig Kaiser. 11th Raw in Grand Rapids they tape Main Event and the week after's show, so no dark matches again. 15th SmackDown in Milwaukee its again Crews vs Vinci before Speed, the Guns retain the tag titles vs Street Profits (topical) when DIY interfere, and after the show there's Finn Balor & JD McDonagh vs Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee for Raws tag title to a DQ then Rey/Lee/Braun Strowman vs Balor/McDonagh/Carlito. Week after in Salt Lake City its a third edition of Crews vs Vinci before tapings which again see a taped show in the can after the live one. 25th Raw has no dark matches and 29th Smacky D is taped so we only have left to touch on Survivor Series where Shinsuke Nakamura beats Knight for the UST and render it virtually invisible again, defences for Gunther and Breakker and of course, the Bloodline and Bronson Reed toppled in War Games by Reigns, Jey, Jimmy, Zayn and wild card CM Punk.

Well, haven't been able to do this for ages....

MAIN EVENTS - SMACKDOWN
This is refreshingly current, it's Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens for the WWE title inside a cage Boxing Day in Jacksonville (Daddy would love that) then 28th-30th in Orlando, Miami then back up in Detroit.
THE CARDS
There's a swap in the Womens title match as its four nights of Nia Jax vs Michin in streetfights above Bayley vs Tiffany Stratton. There are two nights of Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano vs The Motor City Machine Guns vs Austin Theory & Grayson Waller vs Street Profits for the tag belts then two where the Profits drop out making it a three-way, in Orlando & Miami both there's The Usos vs Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga and Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair & Naomi vs Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark, and Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes is all four nights.
VARIANTS
In Jacksonville Solo Sikoa rocks up to tag with Jacob (VERY new age Headshrinkers) to beat their cousins(?), Belair & Naomi defend the belts against Deville & Stark. Unique to Orlando is the addition of Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn. Unique to Detroit its Solo vs Jimmy Uso as a singles grudge match and the champs defend against Chelsea Green & Piper Niven.

MAIN EVENTS - RAW
Boxing Day through 28th at MSG, in Pittsburgh and Baltimore its still Gunther vs Damian Priest for the Silver Medal, now inside a cage, then 29th at the Allstate, rather sensibly, the big Austrian is in there with CM Punk.

At MSG and in Pittsburgh its CM Punk vs Ludwig Kaiser and there are three consecutive nights of Seth Rollins vs Dominik Mysterio, four of Liv Morgan vs Io Sky for the Womens title, everwhere bar Pittsburgh its Bron Breakker vs Sami Zayn for the ICT in 2/3 falls (old school), plus every night its LA Knight vs Santos Escobar and - fun! - Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis & Nikki Cross vs Karrion Kross, Authors Of Pain & Scarlett Bordeaux.
VARIANTS
Otis vs Xavier Woods is unique to MSG. Zayn has Pittsburgh off, so it's Breakker vs Otis vs Kofi Kingston. In Baltimore Rey Mysterio shows up to tag with Punk and beat New Day while Otis beats Kaiser, finally in Rosemont its Rey vs Dom Dom, Rollins vs Chad Gable and Otis vs Kingston.

Next night there's NXT Deadline, nothing especially notable. 9th Raw in Wichita there's another of Chance/Carter vs The Unholy Union between Main Event matches then Bayley vs Tiffy and Cody vs Carmelo Hayes after cameras. 13th in Hartford Gallows vs Giovanni Vinci precedes Speed and two SmackDown tapings on which Naomi replaces the absent? injured? Jade Cargill as Bianca's tag partner and by virtue of beating Nia & Candice LeRae officially become recognised as champions, plus - Guns watch - Shelley loses to Gargano in singles. 14th at the Nassau 15,000 turn up for Saturday Nights Main event, the Guns beat Theory & Waller dark, and on the show Chelsea beats Michin to become the very United States Champion we know and love today. 16th at the TD in Boston (11,000) is massive, Wes Lee vs Dion Lennox opens, there's another of our same Katana & Kayden tag between Main Event and two Raw tapings which include War Raiders coming out from the cold to win the tag belts from Finn Balor & JD McDonagh. 27th in Tampa Apollo Crews vs Waller goes on first, Bianca & Dakota Kai vs Sonya Deville & Zoey Stark then Jey vs Gable follow SmackDown. Finally 30th in Houston there's Zelina Vega vs Baszler between Main Event and Raw then Jey, Rey and LA (hey, that rhymes) beat Escobar/Woods/Kingston in a street fight in the dark main.

Friday 10th in Dade City, Nathan Frazer & Axiom vs Bronco Nima & Lucien Price for the tag belts goes on last. Saturday in Jacksonville, Oba Femi vs Jasper Troy (who?) for the belt is the last of 10 matches. 17th in Citrus Springs his challenger is Brooks Jensen, 18th its Giulia vs Lola Vice (who won a Rumble in Dade City) vs Wren Sinclair (battle royal winner on the night) for the Womens title.
THE CARDS - HIGHLIGHTS
In Dade City there's Fallon Henley vs Gigi Dolin for the WNAT, Sol Ruca vs Wren Sinclair and much of a muchness elsewhere. Jacksonville also has a lot of missing names and "Who?" but there's Eddy Thorpe winning a battle royal to earn a future title shot, Tony D'Angelo vs Ridge Holland for the NAT, Sinclair vs Stevie Turner and Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer & Kelani Jordan vs Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade & Lainey Reid. Citrus Springs has Ridge win a battle royal, big grudge match in Dolin vs Jacy Jayne, Shotzi Blackheart vs Nikkita Lyons, and Lince Dorado is back against a Josh Black. Finally Melbourne has Vaquer & Jordan vs Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson, Wolfgang & Mark Coffey vs Wes Lee & Tyson DuPont, Joe Coffey vs Brooks Jensen and Reid beating Kendal Grey.

3rd in Phoenix an impressive 10,700 see - Guns watch - Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa vs The Motor City Machine Guns go to a non finish and TIFFY TIME as Tiffany Stratton cashes in. No dark matches though. 6th there's a monstrous 17,500 in Inglewood CA for the first Raw on Netflix where John Cena, The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan show their faces to varying reactions, Roman Reigns and CM Punk both wrestle (and win) and Rhea Ripley regains the Womens Silver Medal from Liv Morgan at last. 7th in LA it's NXT "New Years Evil" which sees Oba win the big belt and Giulia unseat Roxi. 10th SmackDown in Portland the Guns rebound to beat Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. 13th we have a Raw in San Jose (13,000) where Lyra Valkyria beats Dakota Kai for the WICT after after cameras Bayley vs Nia Jax earns some revenge for Bayls now the title isn't involved and LA Knight beats US Champ Shinsuke Nakamura by DQ. 17th SmackDown in San Diego (booyaka booyaka) Tiffy retains over Bayley and - shock - they beat Rey Mysterio at home, against Kevin Owens. Plus - Guns watch - Shelley & Sabin beat Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza. Nothing dark. 20th in Dallas on Raw Dakota gets a concussion that rules her out of the Rumble and after the show its Cody Rhodes vs Carmelo Hayes for the title yet again. 24th SmackDown in Austin the Guns beat Pretty Deadly, nothing dark. Nothing dark either on Saturday Nights Main Event or the subsequent Raw or SmackDown where, as I mentioned in the relevant thread, the Guns and LDF beat DIY & Deadly in a confusing 8-man. Well, confusing on mute anyway. No PLE because- WTF - the Rumble fell in February this year. You've gone too far, Uncle Paul.

DEPARTURE
After a match in which Chase U lost and were forced to disband last year, it's reported that Duke Hudson was released in January.

Do you think house shows are just going to become a thing of the past? None at all last month, and barely any since Covid really. Will there be a point where they just stop bothering?

I think so. TV pays the bills and they are selling out town after town. I think there's element of doing a random house show on route somewhere makes sense but all those extra dates for little return it's just a difference business now

This. The TV gates are almost always 10,000+ and they’ve moved the Rumble to stadia, and SummerSlam is going to be two nights. Fewer shows, bigger crowds. Makes sense, it’s a content factory. Only the cachet of “live TV” is what stops them doing Raw and SmackDown from the same venue on the same night now, and only needing the guys and girls to tape 5-6 nights a month. I think eventually the only house shows will be international.
