The results went into the original post on Sunday night, and the table update followed straight after that. The randomly selected wildcard match was #7, which just happened to be El Clásico, and fittingly our own Big Two of the season so far were the only participants to get the exact score right from that one. That leaves them level on points at the top way ahead of anyone else, and it also means TildeGuy narrowly avoided invoking the rule where everybody else gets a free bonus points, precisely because MVP RULZ kept pace with him. Rory moves back into third too, since Stinky was kind enough to join ultimo and myself as equal worst performer this week.

Away from Catalonia, wins for Forfar and Ajax (how often do you see those in the same sentence?!) plus score draws at Elland Road and St Mary's all generally proved fruitful, but a five-goal thriller in Nice, stalemates in Brora and Marseille (also very similar teams and places) and the scale of Liverpool's victory at Old Trafford turned out to be beyond anyone's ken. Progress for Stirling at now-Lowland League Berwick led to more of a mixed bag of guesses.

The next card, including a D2D, will go live in the initial post very soon.

The final scores were put in the opening post on Sunday night, and the table was recalculated soon afterwards. Ajax, fresh off a 5-0 win against PSV the previous week, failed to beat inferior opposition but did at least keep another clean sheet. That meant they let Briefcase down, but only two other participants correctly disagreed with him. One of those was MVP RULZ, who was joint second highest scorer and moves clear of TildeGuy at the top. Unsually, Briefcase also made it into double figures despite the bad D2D bet and Stinky Dad almost salvaged the same score despite picking late, leaving Rory to take the round's wooden spoon.

The randomly selected 'wildcard' fixture was match #3, Watford v Saints. It appears... erm, only I got that one spot on, and that kind of luck led to a performance worthy of a champion for the first time all season, which sees ultimo consequently sink back into last place.

Aside from the Netherlands and Vicarage Road, the outcome at Turf Moor and the scoreline at Villa Park also proved tough to foresee. Two 3-0 away wins for Chelsea (one for the men on Saturday followed by another for the women on Sunday) alongside victories for Leeds and Arsenal plus a score draw in the Basque derby were all easier to guess beforehand. The last match in charge of Spurs for Nuno, on the other hand, turned into more of a mixed bag of predictions.

Scarily enough, new outright leader MVP RULZ hasn't actually even had his first go at a D2D so far in this campaign. But we can fix that, as part of a Cup-dominated set of 10 in the first post of the thread shortly enough...
