I've had a drink so can't remember who it was. Similar happened in the WI at Kingston while Athers ( I think) was captain, and the test was abandoned within an hour. Lord's is meant to be the home of cricket, the egg and bacon, the MCC. And how they can't curate a decent wicket is fucking diabolical. Edited June 6 by HandsomeButchIII Quote

The only other alternative I could think of was recalling Pope and potentially stashing him at 6 because he's been so woeful with bat in hand. Paid Members Jesse Posted June 14 Paid Members Posted June 14 Went to Old Trafford yesterday for the T20 World Cup and got hideously sunburned after the morning rain tricked me into not taking sunscreen. Two great games, Scotland vs Ireland and Australia vs South Africa with big totals from both Scotland and Australia batting first that made the chase really tough from the off. Australia especially look like a scary batting side. They lost a bunch of wickets early but were still hitting nearly 9 an over, just impossible to rattle. For Scotland it was the Bryce's who put up over 100 between them, really fun to see two sisters batting together and so in tune with each other. Over 7k in attendance, which is the highest I've been at for a women's game without a men's game later in the day. I ended up sat next to two women who'd flown in from Australia for the World Cup, one of whom was a former international for Australia and kept getting asked for photos and autographs! In classic Jesse fashion I didn't ask her for a picture or even get her name so I have no idea who she was, but it was great to chat about the women's game and how much support for it has improved. Told us stories about having to sew her own badge onto the cap for her appearances, and on one India tour not even getting a hotel - just set up on camp beds in the ground itself. Quote

What won't be a great day is the cursed series against New Zealand. Robinson out of the next test with a bad knee. The way we are going through bowlers at the minute they might bring Jimmy back.
