Saw England's greatest ever batsman face four balls whilst TMS were saying he'd bat all day, and then Bashir bowl from the 16th over when the ball was doing bits for the NZ Seamers. A remarkable player and we are really going to notice his absence, far more than I think most people realise. This is a bang average team and his ability to make the lineup work is vital. Unless every other country's star test players all quit to play T20 and they all outpace us to the bottom, as we're one of maybe 3 countries still interested in test cricket. Quote

Enid Bakewell was quite polite in response and simply noted she had rang the five minute bell, rather than pointing out that she did score 100 in the first World Cup final. Quote

It's all well and good playing super aggressively when the situation calls for it, but there's always a time in test matches when you're up against the wall and you simply need to dig in and occupy the crease. Bollocks, I'm turning into Boycs! I have a ticket for the first day of the Headingley test against Pakistan next month, knowing how unpredictable the wicket is I have high hopes of a decent day's action. Quote
