Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 11, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 11, 2025 Was not mad at that Alycia Baumgardner weigh-in video at all. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 14, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 14, 2025 Taylor/Serrano, in comparison to the first two fights, was really disappointing. Serrano seemed to come in with a gameplan to just throw more punches than Taylor, problem being, most of her punches were thrown at mid-air, not because of Taylor's movement either, she was just punching air. It was pretty strange at times. At least they put the trilogy to bed. No controversy, no need for another one, Taylor takes the series via a clean sweep. Quote
Gooner Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 The third fight compared to the previous two was very disappointing. Serrano hitting hot air a pot of times during the fight, Taylor was disciplined and used her skills well. Come end of round 7 with 6 minutes left I was hoping and expecting Serrano to come out and throw the kitchen sink at Taylor, turn it into a dog fight and give Taylor no choice but to trade off and fight fire with fire, but it doesn't help that her trainer kept telling her she was winning the fight. I thought Taylor won by at least three rounds in the end. I'd like to see the third fight between Taylor and Chantelle Cameron, if she does decide to continue to box Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 15, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 15, 2025 You could tell the commentary had it in their heads they'd be calling another full on war, they were trying to get their lines even though the action wasn't really playing out to plan in front of them. Great seeing Hamzah Sheeraz give Edgar Berlanga abit of a whooping too. Berlanga is a tit. Quote
Gooner Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 We know the commentators on all channels have their script prepared so when they stutter it's always a good laugh. Sheeraz was fantastic. I hadn't seen the weigh in or anything beforehand but when seeing both in the ring face to face, Sheeraz looked like a monster compared to Berlanga and he proved it in the ring. Huge win for Sheeraz and taking Canelo/Crawford out the equation for now, he can beat and dominate rest of the fighter's at 168lbs. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 16, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 16, 2025 Berlanga 100% judged a book its cover. He tried to bully Sheeraz in the buildup, went all street thug on him. He basically said Sheeraz was soft and had no chance because he'd grew up tough in New York. Uncle Turki's threats seemed to work though, 4 good fights on the night, even Shakur Stevenson was in an exciting fight. Some shady ass decisions in those early fights though. Quote
Gooner Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Watching that makes seeing Sheeraz smash him up the way he did even sweeter. Berlanga using the N word, all the childish street talk stuff, he comes across as the Puerto Rican, Conor Benn. Stevenson was really good, when he needs to produce he usually always does if he is pushed to do do. A lot of talk about him fighting Gervonta Davis next, I don't see that fight happening, no way PBC will put Davis in the ring with Stevenson and that's without the outside stuff that if he is guilty of doing he needs to be locked up. jimufctna24 Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Usyk is perhaps my favourite boxer of all-time, if not he's in my top 3. But I really wish he would have retired after beating Fury the second time. I don't think he had anything left to prove after beating Fury, and I have a horrible feeling about this rematch with Dubois. Ideally I hope Usyk wins on Saturday, retires, and there is a smooth transition to the Itauma era (I'm a big believer in young Moses). Quote
NeverYield Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Dubois has come on enough to create lots of interest and Usyk has slowed slightly potentially but I'm still going Usyk. Too good, too much ring IQ and awareness, its not Dubois time yet. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 17, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 17, 2025 I'm still fancying Usyk to win it convincingly, Dubois has a serious punchers chance but I think Usyk probably stops him late or wins on points. The undercard has been heavily slated, but I don't hate it, stadium undercards are a strange beast, we've seen some cracking undercards but it's irrelevant, the crowd is always flat and half spoils what goes on in the ring. It's all a warm up for the main event. The Barrios/Pacquiao show is far superior in terms of depth. It's snuck up on us and I haven't really felt any buzz for what Pacquiao is looking to do, becoming a World Champion at 46, but it'll be a ridiculous achievment (a year older than George Foreman was when he beat Michael Moorer) He can't do it surely? Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 17, 2025 (edited) Plus, while the whole narrative on the first fight has become ‘Did Dubois hit Usyk in the bollocks or didn’t he?’, what’s mostly being forgotten is that the rest of that fight was Usyk’s quite comfortably, Dubois kind of unraveled and fell to bits as it went on, then Usyk stopped him with a jab. I really like Dubois and obviously he can win this fight. You can never count out a big hitter like him. But Usyk’s still far and away the better actual boxer and I think Dubois hopes to win this one all lie in landing the knockout punch and/or Usyk getting old overnight. Again, could happen but I don’t think it’s the likely outcome. Edited July 17, 2025 by wandshogun09 Quote
