Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted June 28, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 28, 2025 I don't disagree with any of that @Gooner but that font choice is making my eyes bleed more than Fury's eyes against Wallin. Quote

Feels like the chat has completely died concerning anything Jake Paul's boxing career. Talk is, he'll be ranked and will attempt a legit run after this but I doubt that. Probably would have been intriguing if Chavez wasn't coming off a decade of completely destroying his families name. Still, it would be nice to see him turn up and take this seriously. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 1, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 1, 2025 He landed 9 punches over the first 6 rounds. An absolute farce, it cant go on much longer. Quote

Gooner Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I'm intrigued by Catterall and Eubank with it being Catterall moving up to 147lbs and losing his last fight against Barboza Jr. I have no idea how good Eubank is, I've seen a few of his fights against decent opposition but this is a big step up in opponent compared to his previous fights, but the fact his team were the ones who went in to make this fight happens, shows they're really confident in pulling this off. d-d-d-dAz Posted July 6, 2025 Posted July 6, 2025 (edited) I'm going to be a single issue poster at this rate, but this guy trying to define what is and isn't acceptable in a boxing ring isn't good for the sport at all. It's a fucking sport, which means providing its within the rules of the sport its fine. The entitled, rich vibes from Uncle Turki really put me off. They're athletes competing in a sport to win, not actors performing in a play for your amusement. Fuck sake. Edited July 6, 2025 by d-d-d-dAz Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 6, 2025 Imagine how much he’d have hated the Mayweather era? Not known for getting into dogfights but just keeps winning and brings in too much money to not do business with. As much as we all like to see exciting fights, big finishes, drama and FOTY contenders, you’re not gonna get that every single time. Different styles and how they match up is what makes Boxing interesting. If he wants to just see people get the shit knocked out of each other with no nuance or application of skill, he should probably just switch to Power Slap. Quote
NeverYield Posted July 7, 2025 Posted July 7, 2025 When two boxers who are highly skilled come together in competition it's not as simple as an all out 'firefight' all the time. There is tact involved and thoughtful approaches to each move, it's not a scrap outside the boozer, and all styles will match up differently. Of course behaving like William Scull did vs Canelo is embarrassing all round, and yes, boring, because there was no sign of him using any of his negative style to try and lure Canelo into anything, just pure 'trying not to lose' mentality. So I get both sides, paying customers and paying promoters etc are always gonna be vocal about outright negative fighters who show no ambition, and i get it to a degree, no one is forcing you to get in there and fight, if you don't want to do everyone a favour and don't bother. But on the flip side sometimes what may not look like an exciting fight at times is two elite boxers trying to figure out how best to fight their fight and that can't be criticised, and most of the time true fight fans enjoy this stage, almost like the calm moments before the storm. Turki is on one. He's openly critisizing Shakur Stevenson ahead of his fight with William Zepeda this weekend on The Ring card he is promoting. Goading him into standing and fighting with Zepeda which is completely against what Shakur is about. Turki even put out a tweet saying they'd be using a shrinking ring which would force Shakur to exchange as it goes on, it was clearly a joke, but the amount of people who believes its actually happening is a bit scary. It might not be entirely serious about this weekend, but I don't think it's a 'joke'. He's clearly decided he doesn't want to promote a boring old sport anymore, he wants to promote living action figures who just smash each other into oblivion. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 10, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 10, 2025 Any takers this weekend? Quote
Gooner Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 I'm looking forward to both cards. I hope to stay up and watch the all women's card live or at worse catch it at some point on the Saturday. I see DAZN being sneaky again as on that poster it says nothing about the RING III card being on DAZN PPV, but It's a strong card on paper and should be a good watch. Quote
