Ricc1PW
I really want to ask out the girl in the sandwich shop near my work, but I'm too much of a wuss. Â There must be a way to do it without actually doing it, right?

I thought that. but I don't know her name, so I'd have to hand her it - and if I was gonna go to that trouble I'll look like a right creep for not just asking her wouldn't I. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 13, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 13, 2019 Yes. If you think you're being a wimp she will too. You're going to just have to ask her!

You’ve nothing to lose, so just don’t dwell on it and cut right to the chase
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2019 Agreed. Think about it this way: what are you risking? "No" means some momentary disappointment that you can move on from in relatively short order. "Yes" means potential for happiness lasting much longer than that. CTXRussomark
A 'no' would undoubtedly mean a change of sandwich shop though.  Exactly how good are the sandwiches?
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted February 13, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2019 Yup.  The quality of the sandwich is the sticking point here. How easily could you give up said sandwiches if need be?

squatswithducks
@Ricc1PWÂ Silly questions, but are you actually sure she's single?! Do you have much of a chat when you're in the shop?
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 13, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2019 Is it really so bad that you have to stop going there if she says "no"? I'd understand if you were prone to throwing yourself out through the window upon rejection, but surely you're both mature enough adults that it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Would have thought the worst that would happen would be a bit of sheepishness as you place your BLT order.

This is a pretty poor generalisation of how people take rejection.
