TAP Management
Here it is the greatest song thread. Â The rules are simple. Â All songs nominated must gave featured in the Official UK Singles Chart which has ran from 1969 until the present day. Â You will need to nominate 3 songs from each of the following categories. Â 1969 - 1979 1980 - 1989 1990 - 1999 2000 - 2009 2010 - 2015 Â Nominations close on the 28th August at 11.59pm. Â When all nominations are then counted the top 25 songs will be listed and everyone will have a further five votes, this time ranking each song 1st to 5th with the following points awarded for each position. Â 1st - 10 2nd - 8 3rd - 6 4th - 4 5th - 2 Â Reasons for each song must be given at this stage. Â This stage will run from August 29th until September 5th at 11.59pm. Â The full list of the top 25 UKFF Greatest Song will then be revealed.
King Coconut
Are you defining 'pop' as any song that made the charts, or do they have to be a blatantly poppy tunes?
TAP Management
Sorry should have made that clear. Â Â Think along the lines of Lou Bega - Mambo No.5. A great example of a pop song. WI.e when it first came out it was massively popular, however was a little bit crap if truth be told. That's the kind of song we're after here. Â Hope that helps. Everytime it's mentioned on here, it takes me right back to whatever late night jukebox show they had on BSB back in the day, that and Amazing Discoveries. Now off to find some Didi
