The PROGRESS Wrestling Thread

The last few progress shows since brixton have all been really good. I've watched chapter 39 at least 3 times and I haven't done that with a show in years.

Ospreys turn will be really good, but begs the question of who wil go against BSS if havoc is busy with swords of Essex?

I think the thing to remember is that with BSS in WWEUK and Will with ROH and NJPW, they aren't likely to all be available for every show. So Havoc just feuds with ALL THE HEELS.

PROGRESS use so many great wrestlers, and generally book them so well, that missing wrestlers for a show or two has never harmed them for me, even champions. They haven't even started booking storylines for the Atlas belt yet, just running the open challenge gimmick which has made it easy to drop in and out, but Rampage is a fine headliner if they wanted to go that route on nights Dunne is AWOL.

Is Matt Riddle over here this weekend? Could make a more than worthy main event open challenger for Rampage Brown.

Not sure about that, but I have noticed he's in the UK with PCW the day before SSS16. Would love for him to be in that this year

PCW also have a show (in Preston) the next day (which clashes with the first day of SSS16), so he could well be at that one.  That being said, there's SSS16 is obviously a 3-day tournament this year, so it might be the case that PROGRESS first round matches could be split across the first 2 days (though with the timings they've announced, it seems more likely they'll do Rd 1 Saturday, Quarters on Sunday and Semis and Final on Monday).

As I understand it, that's the plan. One of the main motivations of the third day was to stop the guys having to wrestle three times in one day.

Neither Riddle or Angelico are on the combined Bradford/Preston poster, just announced as a match in Bradford, so I would not be shocked if both guys were in SSS16.

Matt Riddle is in Rev Pro the week after this weekend's show which got me thinking about Sunday.

Have said elsewhere I see a wwe face or two showing up in progress and icw this weekend to compensate for wwe announcing their show against the two shows arranged before hand, and good relationships both companies have with wwe.

That was my thoughts, or damo and tommy end. Jack Gallagher turning up for rampages challenge, and Damo getting to say farewell to icw both make sense to me.

Gallagher showing up to challenge for THAT belt doesn't make sense.

He's always claimed in progress to be a heavyweight. He isn't going to win so it's just a fun return
