Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 The best thing to watch is Tuesday Night Titans. Especially the one with Paul Christy. "How many apartment buildings do you own?" Any TNT episodes involving Piper or a heel Captain Lou are brilliant. I feel Captain Lou went a bit shit after the babyface turn though.
Whiskey1 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 WWE 24 could have been a lot better. More backstage stuff, capturing things that we don't normally see. Showing different personalities etc. If you've ever seen the HBO NHL documentaries you'll know what I mean.
King Pitcos Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I thought this documentary was fantastic. I was really left wanting more. Seeing Hogan and Warrior bury th hatchet, Taker interact with Vince and Hogan, Rock and Austin having a laugh was really good. I didn't like the Hogan/Warrior scene. They've shown that before, in the Warrior documentary, and it just seems so awkward -- I suppose it was bound to be, but there's a weirdness there that there wasn't in Warrior's other encounters. I don't know if it's that the Hulkster's being false or what it is. Loved the rest of the episode though, brilliant stuff. Intriguing to see Cena and the Wyatts in the background preparing for their match as Rock, Hogan and Austin talked. And it was interesting to see (a bit of) the fallout from Undertaker vs Lesnar. Also, have I just missed it or have WWE stopped showing the famous reaction shot from 21-1 lately?
neil is brill Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I've noticed that they haven't shown the black dudes reaction for ages. Probably because he got more TV time and was more over than the likes of Justin Gabriel.
Paid Members JNLister Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 During the Hogan/Michaels/Austin/Rock scene, I wonder if any of them believe a single word any of the others say?

I think it is too comedic for the usual shocked tone they aim for with the streak breaking. there's a weirdness there that there wasn't in Warrior's other encounters. The whole scene is probably CG added in post-mortem.
The Invisible Boy Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Just to reiterate, I've just finished watching WWE 24 and it was awesome. Such a good insight into a snippet of what goes on backstage and yeah some parts were very emotional, seeing Connor again made me well up a little, he seemed like such a great kid and at least he got to see Bryan win the Title and was actually a part of his WrestleMania moment before he tragically passed away, it would have been a lovely memory for his Dad too. Then you had the parts with Warrior and his kids and wife which pulled on the heartstrings a little knowing what was to come. Even the bit with Ric Flair crying about how proud he was of Charlotte got to me a little. Yeah, such an awesome documentary and it really was a great event. To think those who cancelled the WWE Network either would have not seen this or would be trying to find it on a stream somewhere, this is the reason why I would never cancel the Network.
King Pitcos Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 During the Hogan/Michaels/Austin/Rock scene, I wonder if any of them believe a single word any of the others say? In the earlier scene, I liked Rock and Hogan trying to set up a little "IT DOESN'T MATTER" backstage but Hogan didn't quite get how the setup and punchline of the catchphrase worked, and Rock either didn't understand how Hulk was misunderstanding or didn't have the heart to tell him how it goes.

Latter, definitely latter haha it was a genuine LOL moment for me
Paid Members Linus Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 Is Super Astros on the Network?
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 28, 2015 Moderators Posted January 28, 2015 No. Shame as that's the kind of content I was hoping for.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 Right, the missus is out tonight so I'm going to have a Tuesday (but on a Wednesday) Night Titans marathon. Of the episodes that are already up, which are the best ones to watch? P.S. I've never watched an episode before
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 I'd start from the first one to be honest with you. I bought the whole 1984 + 85 set on DVD from a trader a few years ago and loved them all. But as I said, any involving Piper and a pre-turn Captain Lou (so 1984 episodes) are a treat.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 28, 2015 Moderators Posted January 28, 2015 Also, hopefully they'll upload the Aug 85 episodes soon and that means FUJI VICE!~
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 28, 2015 Paid Members Posted January 28, 2015 What I love the most about TNT, and 1984/85 as a whole I suppose, is how the company was still finding its feet to some degree. You can see the the wheels in motion for the slick product associated with the golden era in the 80's, but some teething problems along the way. A few dodgy and sometimes politically incorrect segments as well as some great ones like Gene Okerlund walking round Manhattan with Adrian Adonis, going to Dick Murdoch's ranch in Texas, Dr D the wifebeater and Fuji Vice.
