Doctor Whos Next
When we did our documentary for C4 it was in fact filmed by and independant company had someone phoned C4 they would not had a scooby what was happening. Channel 4 makes very little of its own content anyway... ITN makes the news etc etc.
Paid Members JNLister Posted August 7, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 7, 2013 Channel 4 doesn't make any shows itself -- that's part of the way it was set up, to encourage more diversity and competition among production companies.
tony1234
Already enough doubts surrounding this to make me very sceptical, I would love it to be a success but they haven't got off to a good start with the Kendo business.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted August 7, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 7, 2013 In fairness, did anyone expect a straight answer from Kendo's rep?

Patrick "Madman" Kelly
People who don't like Bagga have either had run ins that didn't sit well with them or just jealous and bitter. Bottom line is himself and John Chapman are very business minded and I doubt you will find anyone in wrestling with a stronger work ethic than Bagga. He's worked hard to make doors open for himself and now they have opened so more power to all involved. The only time I've took offence was the money he offered me and Sabotage a shocking wage and once pissed me off about how he fucking despised wrestlers and looked down on them. The above was a very long time ago however and to certain degree I slightly empathise given some of the shit he has taken but again I bare no ill will at all. I seriously hope he can make great things happen. It certainly won't be for the lack of effort. Best of luck to LDN!
Paid Members Duke Posted August 7, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted August 7, 2013 This could be fantastic for the sport in the uk. I think part of the problem is that people have become a little dubious about big announcements, and when small cracks appear (eg Kendo being announced but then his rep being very vocal about him not being booked) appear people start to expect the worse. When ITV were mentioned everyone jumped to the conclusion that it was being filmed to be broadcast and it was a done deal, the reality is a little different. rohpete
From Daily Mirror site World of Sport wrestling will not be returning to ITV - despite speculation that the grunt and groan could once again feature in the broadcaster’s television schedules after a 25 year absence. Fans expressed hopes on Twitter and internet forums for a return to the glory days of British grappling on telly after it was announced that a London-based wrestling events company had “been contracted by WOS Wrestling Ltd for ITV’s all-new ‘World of Sport Wrestling’”. LDN Wrestling, billed as “Europe's number 1 wrestling promotion” in its Twitter biography, claimed on its website that a comeback event held at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls in November would be “taped for ITV”, featuring appearances from the likes of legends Kendo Nagasaki and Johnny Saint. LDN Wrestling said event would be "taped for ITV" A separate press release detailed that WOS Wrestling Ltd and ITV Studios Limited “have come to terms to resurrect ITV's iconic World of Sport Wrestling”. However, ITV has confirmed that the show will not be broadcast on any of its TV channels. A spokesman said: "We have no plans to televise this event. ITV Studios is one of a number of production companies owned by ITV plc that creates shows for a variety of channels – including those owned by the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and BSkyB. Coronation Street, Emmerdale, University Challenge, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, The Jeremy Kyle Show and This Morning are among the thousands of hours of programming the subsidiary produces every year. While grapple mag Fighting Spirit reported on its Twitter account that there was the possibility that the November taping could serve as a pilot for future programming, it remains unclear what platform any show could be transmitted on Last year, WOS Wrestling Ltd - in conjunction with ITV Broadcasting Limited - began distributing old episodes of World of Sport , which aired on ITV for 30 years between the mid-1960s and 1980s, on iTunes. And, according to the same press release that announced the 'resurrection', “numerous World of Sport trade marks rights” were sold “to ITV Studios Limited with an agreement to provide new World of Sport Wrestling for ITV” in June. Asked whether WOS hoped to sell programming to other channels or maybe even stream content online, John Chapman, managing director of WOS Wrestling Ltd, clarified: “ITV Studios Limited have instructed a third party production company to film and produce the footage (as they normally do with their TV shows). “The footage shall be the property of ITV Studios Limited; where ITV Studios Limited broadcast the footage shall be their decision.” A tweet issued from the @woswrestling account last night stated that “the event is not yet scheduled for broadcast” Link to story
