Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 30, 2015 Tom Hardy out of the question..? He seems to fit the bill.
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted October 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted October 30, 2015 I'd love to see Hardy, Fassbender or Brody from Homeland have a pop at Bond, but I'd rather the Craigster have one more crack at it before hanging it up.I wouldn't mind Idris Elba, but I think it would alienate a lot of potential ticket buyers if they cast him, as there are a LOT of people who think Bond should be caucasian. People are talking about Cavill too, but I think he'd be shit. Although, from his perspective, imagine looking in the mirror at yourself and going "I'm Superman and James cunting Bond!" You'd be on a permo horn over yourself, really, wouldn't you?
Paid Members Murtz Posted October 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted October 30, 2015 Still can't get on with Craig as bond, let alone Tom Hardy or Cavill. I need my bond to be a skinny bloke who used gadgets and charm to get his way.. someone who looks weak but will still somehow get the better of people twice his size. Craig just looks too hard to be Bond.
Merzbow
I finally got around to watching Why Dont You Play In Hell last night, after waiting waay too long for a UK release I said fuck it and pirated the damn thing and wow.. what a wonderful batshit and downright charming film it is. It's worth it just for the fight scenes at the end. Â I also caught Attack Of The Mushroom People from Toho, nothing like the usual big monster movies. It's not amazing but I dug the hazy dreamlike feeling and the bigger emphasis on the human relationships.

Craig just looks too hard to be Bond. I'm sort of the opposite, I like to be able to believe Bond is a killer, suave but still a beast and a killer. Â I never got that from Moore. I could buy it from Connery, Dolton, Bronson (despite shit scripts beyond Goldeneye) and especially from Craig (although QOS was shite) I'm in the minority I'm sure. Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted October 30, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted October 30, 2015 Yeah, DC is top drawer, as far as I'm concerned. Every Bond is decent to great in their own way, but Craig is by far the most superior - leading to him being in three of the better Bond film during his tenure. Speaking of... Â Spectre was another fine effort. It isn't as gripping or paced as well as Casino Royale and Skyfall, but it's still a fun film. With Spectre the most impressive part of the movie is the locations, leading to some cool and pretty action sequences. Most of the cast were pretty good, but my only big gripe is I thought Christoph Waltz was well underwhelming as you know. Big Dave was brilliant as the big bad ass, just a shame his only line was naff.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted November 1, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 1, 2015 Has anybody seen this documentary about Football Manager? It looks quite nifty. Available to buy on Amazon.. Â http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O7Y9FUQ
sammorgz
It's pretty good yeah. Worth a watch if you're a fan of the game but it's nothing overly special.
Paid Members Bettencourt Posted November 2, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 2, 2015 The comedian guy they had on was a right throbber. Apart from that, I really enjoyed the documentary.
Merzbow
Watched As The Gods Will last night, it's like an overly Japanese take on SAW and The Hunger Games. It was shite BUT worth watching for just how gory it is for a film aimed at young people, it started with heads popping off all over the bleeding shop.  EDIT: This fucking trailer... wat  Edited November 2, 2015 by Merzbow
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted November 6, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 6, 2015 I just watched Death Becomes Her for the first time since my family rented it when I was 12. I remember it being a fun unusual film with good special effects for the time but it's actually brilliant. It's really well paced, funny and dark with a great cast and it feels completely unique - it's not often you get a combo of glamorous middle aged women and cartoon ultra violence. Most of the effects still look decent too, they must have looked amazing back then.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted November 6, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) Yeah, "Death Becomes Her" is a great film. Always try to catch it on the ITV channels. Was the first film I watched when I got Sky Movies in 1994. Other one was "California Man". Â Here is Barry Norman being a bit racist. What the fick? Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 17, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 17, 2015 Interstellar:I didn’t like it at first. I thought it was decent second time. Third time was good, fourth was tremendous and now fifth time I believe it’s the most beautiful movie ever made! I’m utterly fascinated by the cunt. It’s playing on my mind constantly like the crush I had on Stella Bateson and her purple bras in school. I fucking hated Zimmers score for this initially, tarring it with sounding like something to akin to what you’d hear at a chapel of a Sunday from an 80 year old woman named Bessie, but now I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more perfect piece of music than “No Time For Caution”. I have no idea how a movie and its accompanying score could swing me from the arse end of a spectrum to the crown with such zest and vigour, and I'm 100% completely confused by it. Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted November 17, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 17, 2015 American Ultra was great, the balance between pathos and humour was spot on, as was the balance between it feeling like an indie drama at points and like Bourne identity at others. Nice one Max Landis, maybe there is something to that guy other than astronomic levels of nepotism.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted November 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 17, 2015 Nice. I want to see that. Â What was the other thing you recommended to me recently? It may have been in the TV thread? I remember wanting to watch it but I can't remember what it was now...
