sorry to bump an old thread but i came across this searching for a different older thread but given how quick content becomes availalble these days i imagine there's plenty of new (or older stuff that's now available) stuff worth checking out...

there's the Wimbledon documentary from a couple of years ago, it split opinion but it's a very good watch.

Premier Passions is back up on Youtube I've noticed as well, following Sunderland in the 1996/97 Premier League season. Remember watching it at the time as a Sunderland fan, Reidy's half time team talks were something else from what I can remember. Think I may have to watch it again

Sir Alex hated the Rangers in the 80s. Absolute despised them due to the fact Rangers basically kicked Fergie out after he married a Catholic woman. I'd be raging too. Probably why the Aberdeen - Rangers rivalry started, rather than the Neil Simpson nearly having the leg off Ian Durrant.

Here's a really enjoyable RTE produced documentary about the history of Irish football:

And here's a documentary on Irish grass roots football focusing on one of me best mates coaching the kids at Home Farm:

I'm not sure how many modern footballers have DVDs/Blu-Rays but I remember back in the day when it would be the norm to find a club video of someone banging in lots of goals.

Do these still get made or because of modern age football and players always moving between clubs that there just isn't many worth producing?  Or does it go deeper with licensing issues?

Fingers crossed Messi has a DVD once he's retired, you would imagine that would make tons of money.

Some clubs having their own channels probably puts a stop to some of the DVDs. Like Chelsea-wise I wouldn't look at comps of all of Lampard or Drogba's goals, because they're on every other minute on Chelsea TV. MUTV and the History Channel must have United and Liverpool fans in the same boat.

I remember they used to release the FA Cup Final on VHS every year. Do they still release it on DVD (if they ever did)?

I believe they do. But not sure whether its a club thing or a BBC thing. I've seen them in HMV though but it was London and one of the Arsenal cup finals so maybe just a local thing.

City put one out last year to mark Sergio Aguero scoring his 100th goal for the club. Liverpool put a bonus DVD on their season review set last year with all of Steven Gerrard's goals. Everton last did a player specific set a few years back for Tim Cahill, surprisingly the club haven't put one out to mark Romelu Lukaku passing the 50 mark for us earlier this season as far as I'm aware
