Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted March 22, 2014 Paid Members Posted March 22, 2014 Yeah, but they never do those 'Where Are They Now?' features on guys that are on the bones of their arse. There is always a feel-good angle to them. Quote
kostan Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Tito's bio is the shits. Very few pages and looks like its written in two days. Avoid! Quote

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 26, 2014 Moderators Posted March 26, 2014 I worry that this book will lose something of the original articles without the pictures that were on the blog. Is there enough new / changed stuff to be worth my while? Quote
Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted March 26, 2014 Moderators Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) I worry that this book will lose something of the original articles without the pictures that were on the blog. Is there enough new / changed stuff to be worth my while? The stuff that was on the blog (which is coming down, barring the Hogan piece) is 12,000 words out of 55,000. And the Mad Lies of Hulk Hogan is updated. If you read the Bray Wyatt thing I posted, the chapter about Pillman and Kayfabe is six times the length of that. The new pieces are super long and in-depth. The kind of length I'd never dare even put on a blog because you'd have a beard down to your knees by the time you scrolled to the bottom. Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted March 26, 2014 Moderators Posted March 26, 2014 While I'm here, has anybody read The Squared Circle: Life, Death, and Professional Wrestling by David Shoemaker and can you recommend it? I haven't read it yet, but I think it's mostly a collection of his Grantland columns, which are spectacular. Shoemaker's the best wrestling writer out there today, by far, really smart, insightful, and he's got a huge cultural frame of reference, unlike most of the 'wrestling writer' types who work in the wrestling bubble, and just regurgitate what the million other terrible columists have already said. Cool. I'll pick it up. I enjoyed him on the Torch livecasts, which was where I heard about his book and my only exposure to him. Might as well get the hardcover, the Kindle edition is more expensive then that. Quote

Isn't he the guy that thought Mike Quackenbush was the same person as Mikey Whipwreck? And also thought Phil Lafon and Doug Furnas were "French wrestlers"? Quote
