First half, as mentioned, is like a Bond film and is fantastic. As soon as it starts falling into your typical 'get to the action' second half it loses its way a little. I think they made the best of the characters they could introduce while keeping within the timeline of the other films. I just pray she is too dim to reproduce   Your prayers seem to have gone unanswered as the exact same thing happened with a girl to the right of me when I saw it on thursday. I really enjoyed it as well though. The slight criticisms raised here are fair and some of it does seem a little rushed, but the core between Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy (who was surprisingly good for once) is very strong. It always seems to be the case with origin stories that there is too much to include and get bogged down with. Â In short, it's amusing, but not necessarily for the intended reasons. The soundtrack is bizarre, halfway through a sex scene Linda Lovelace is suddenly fully shaven, and during the final shot the cameraman's shadow goes right across the screen and the "sleeping" man has a quick peek to see if the cameraman is still there. truthofsin Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 This week i've had a break from the wrestling habit and caught up on my studies and managed to fit in the following.. Â - The A-Team: A lot of my friends didn't like this, but i really enjoyed it. It was just the right mix of humor and REALLY over the top action i was hoping for. If it took itself seriously i doubt i'd have enjoyed it at all, but it really doesnt in the slightest. Lots of fun and worth a watch. Â - RED: The best film i've watched in a while for sure, another decent action/comedy flick, but a world apart from others of the genre. Great showings by Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren (she was awesome). Mary-Louise Parker is a cute bit of fluff and not bad in her roll either (wouldn't have put her at 45 as she was while filming it though). Had me LOLing throughout and not a lot of flicks have that kind of effect on me normally. Â - Battle of Los Angeles: Utter crap made for TV movie (financed by SyFy i believe), not to be confused with the other 2011 flick 'Battle: Los Angeles' which i'm hoping to watch this week. Avoid this one like the plague, it's just low rent sci-fi not done very well. Â - Resident Evil: Degeneration: Fun animated film for fans of the game, i say that as without knowing a fair bit of the background it won't be half as interesting to watch. It's pretty much what you'd expect from a Resident Evil animation, it looks like it should and retains a lot more of the game's character than the live action series does. truthofsin Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Just watched The Chaperone and it's not half as bad as it's been made out to be. Sure it's not a classic, but i think it delivers exactly what it set out to deliver. Reminds me a lot of the flicks i used to watch when i was a kiddy and as that's the PG audience WWE are aiming it at, it's spot on i think. I won't watch it again like, but it being trashed as much as it has been seems unfair (there's a hell of a lot worse films wise on TV weekly). Triple H is a lot better in this role than he was in Blade Trinity as far as his acting goes, he's not quite there yet, but he's definatly growing as an actor. With a little bit of improvement in the editing, his performance would have come over a lot better (not that it was bad though, it was above average for this type of flick). The voice of Lisa Simpson was a nice addition to the cast, as was the young las who played his kid. Overall it's not to shabby for what it is.
