Paid Members LaGoosh Posted September 24, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2012 Due to this thread I also started watching Trailer Park Boys last week. I've only seen the first two episode and quite enjoying it so far. Two utterly fantastic lines: Â "I want a new TV, I want a VCR, and I want my porn tapes replaced because those were the creme de le creme." Â Lahey: Why don't you get a life, Rick? Why don't you go to community college like Julian here? Hey! I got a good idea! You could teach Living In A Car and Growing Dope 101! Ricky: And you could teach how to get drunk, get fired from the police force, become a lousy trailer park supervisor that sucks, hangs around with a fucking idiot that doesn't wear a shirt and looks like a dick but thinks he looks good, 101. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 24, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2012 It is brilliant. Just finished the first series. I may try and do them all by the end of the week.
Loki
Hell On Wheels is shaping up very well, definitely a strong Deadwood vibe, and Colm Meaney is great in it. Cheers Chesticles.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted September 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 Saw #4 and #5 of the Yank Inbetweeners last night. They were pretty much brand new episodes. One based around setting up a school "club" and the other around a slave auction and a trip to the Country club. From my massive knowledge of US high schools (i.e. Saved by The Bell), I know they are staples of Americana. they were both pretty good. #4 is probably the best so far with Will chasing a girl being the central theme and them doing a pretty good job of it. #5 had a couple of good gags but too much emphasis on an unfunny visual gag:  SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read Jay getting his cock suck in a Jacuzzi inlet   Still, a much better show than i thought it would be after the first one. I quite look forward to it now.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 Just started series 2 of Trailer Park Boys. The expansion of Bubbles' shopping trolley obsession was ace as was focusing on Randy's idiot savant abilities with dealing with cops. Randy threatening the cat would have made the whole episode worthwhile on its own, though.
King Pitcos
Gladders, are you using a paid VPN service to access US Netflix? Edited September 25, 2012 by King Pitcos

ukfan11
Anyone been watching Moone Boy on Sky? I liked Steve Coogan's character in it on the second episode. Edited September 25, 2012 by ukfan11
King Pitcos
I caught a bit of it at a mate's house on Saturday night and it seemed better than I was expecting. I'd been put off by all Sky's other comedy being shit. I'll watch it all at some point. Edited September 25, 2012 by King Pitcos
Paid Members PunkStep Posted September 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 The Cafe, Trollied...Sky1 have some right shite 'homegrown' comedy. Spy isn't that bad though. The wife recorded Moone Boy so I'll give it a go.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted September 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 Trollied is ace. The Cafe was good too. It was so warm it was practically the womb. My recording fucked up on the first episode of Moone Boy so I'm sulking and refusing to watch now. Â Spy was shit.
iamtheman
Trollied's the best of the bunch. Stephanie Beacham's been a brilliant addition this series  Moone boy's class. The young lad's good and it's well written. some really top laugh's in it
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted September 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2012 I like a lot of the comedies knocking about at the moment- Trollied, New Girl, Raising Hope, Moone Boy. All are well written and good ways to pass half an hour. Â Gladders- I loved Trailer Park Boys back when they were first airing over here on Comedy Central. Not seen it for years though. Could never understand why so few people picked up on it- it was easily the funniest thing on TV for ages in the mid-2000s.

My brother became a big fan of it so I immediately became suspicious of it because his taste his usually shit. But when Butch started talking it up and it appeared on Netflix, I was always going to give it a shot. It really is great and does deserve wider recognition. ukfan11
The Cafe was good too.  Yeah, I liked Cafe but it's more of a Drama-Comedy, which most of Craig Cash's work outside Royle Family seem to be, ie. Sunshine, Early Doors.
