The Cum Doctor
I don't usually pay any attention to Good Charlotte but I just caught their latest video on one of the music channels and I'll be damned if it isn't the best single I've heard this year.Good Charlotte - 'The River'I switched over just after the first chorus (when the twunt from Avenged Sevenfold is singing) so I didn't even realise who it was until the end. I severely doubt it but if the rest of the album is like this I might just buy download it.It's worth downloading. Even though there's some crap in the second half, there's some good stuff in the first half. 'Dance Floor Anthem' is probably my favourite on there right now. Guest Ice
This next one is from Ween's latest EP. It again proves that not only can do any genre of music but they can do it better than ,most who specialise in it. Listen to this is you like Daft Punk, Euro-pop, and dance. It takes awhile to get into, but trust me it's awesome."Friends"http://www.sendspace.com/file/lojb7pNEW WEEN! Thanks, I had no idea this new EP even existed. Not sure what to think of this song yet though. This is pretty gay, even for Ween, but I'm picking up some brown vibes too.

Paid Members Monkee Posted July 5, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted July 5, 2007 Not everyone's cup of tea but my favourite song right now. One of those songs that just sums up everything you feel in 3 minutes and 7 seconds. Â Under The Sun
Mr. Seven
So, Hell Is For Heroes have a new album out. This is the opening track, and it's pretty much the type of epic, dramatic crescendo-building music that makes me orgasm. Â 'To Die For'
Parkamarka
Been listening to a bunch of, I guess, classic rock/Americana today, and realised I haven't posted any My Morning Jacket. This is probably them at their most cheesy and Skynyrd-esque (half the song is just a big fuckoff guitar solo), but it's an immensely fun track that I never tire of. rockbus
So, Hell Is For Heroes have a new album out. This is the opening track, and it's pretty much the type of epic, dramatic crescendo-building music that makes me orgasm.'To Die For'I've been a fan of HIFH since the start, but the new album makes me sad. With the exception of the first track there's very little in the way of ideas and the songs just sort of start, carry on a bit, then end. They can't quite decide whether they want to be Refused or Mogwai, and it just doesn't work. One Of Us from Transmit Disrupt and You Drove Me To It from the debut (which was originally a Symposium song with the working title of Peshwari Naan, fact fans) are still classics :thumbsup:All this talk of HIFH/Symposium means I'm gonna put up a song I've been listening to a lot lately, Bleach In Yr Motherfucking Eye, a demo from Symposium's unreleased 3rd album that is fucking brilliant.http://www.sendspace.com/file/l8jj7v Edited July 5, 2007 by rockbus
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted July 6, 2007 Awards Moderator Share Posted July 6, 2007 Lots of great stuff here, far too much to comment on. Like that "The National" thing, and it's nice to know Gomez are still going. Â As a return, I'll cheat with a wedding thing: Â Representing the old: the always-awesome Beach Boys, in the autumn of their years together after they'd moved past the kitsch-surf stuff. This is I Can Hear Music, a heartfelt tune with (unsurprisingly) great harmonies. How apt for this thread. Â Something New: I'm on a massive Who-fest at the moment, so here's a track from their latest album, Endless Wire. This is Mike Post Them as in the guy that did Quantum Leap and Hill Street Blues (among others). It's a bit quiet, then a bit shouty, with a great chorus. Â The borrowed: an epic from Television, the pre-punk arties famous for interlocking their rhythm and lead guitars. Here's Marquee Moon, which was in the charts many moons ago believe it or not. I borrowed this from an aging rocker. Â And the blue: the delicious Bluetones from 1997 with Cut Some Rug. Lovely lyrics.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted July 7, 2007 Moderators Share Posted July 7, 2007 Woohoo.. the sushine is here again! Â Have some Black Uhuru - Puff She Puff... My favourite reggae band; I was only recently introduced to them through the greatness of the Scarface video game. Â Als, here's some Curtis Mayfield - Pusherman from the Superfly soundtrack. The whole album is tremendous.
HBAndy
I downloaded and liked that Black Uharu song. It turns out a couple of my mates are into them so I'll be nicking their stuff in the near future.  Here's my favourite song of the moment...  The Mary Onettes - Lost  They are of course Swedish, and of course, fooking brilliant. This song make me go banana.

PC316
Here's a song from the new Ben Weasel album, he is the former frontman of legendary pop punk band Screeching Weasel who influenced a whole generation of bands. This is his second solo record and the line up for this one is Ben Weasel, the guitarist and drummer from All American Rejects and Dan from Alkaline Trio on bass. The whole album rules, but I think this is one of the most instantly catchy songs for anyone not familiar with Weasel's style. Paid Members ShortOrderCook Posted July 17, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted July 17, 2007 (edited) I really liked what I saw of Bat For Lashes on the Glastonbury coverage, I'm looking forward to checking her out at Latitude. The Kate Bush/Bjork comparisons definitely ring true. Those songs you posted purplemonkeydishwasher, however, won't play as they appear to be copy-protected and can only be authorised by you.Ah tits. Not sure why that is. Here they are again anyways...Bat For Lashes- TahitiBat For Lashes- PrescillaIf they still don't work, you can listen to both songs aswel as a couple of others on her Myspace. While i'm here, may aswel heap some kudos on for other shit people have thrown in here. Really dug that song by The National and also Tegan and Sara, so cheers for those whomever upped 'em. May aswel chuck a couple more in too;Been looking forward to seeing Grindhouse for months now, so thought i'd check out the soundtracks as, given the directors there's a good chance they'd be fantastic. This is the opeing piece to the Planet Terror side of things.Begining to appreciate alot of Malcolm Middleton stuff recently. Here's one of his older songs, Solemn Thirsty . Vito
If I had to compile a list consisting of my all-time favorite songs this would easily be amongst the top ten, possibly even top five. Paid Members Chilly McFreeze Posted July 22, 2007 Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2007 Havn't posted in here for a while. Since I got a new set of awesome speakers, I've been listening to loads of music recently, and here are some selected highlights. Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry  I just can't get over how good this band are. I've been listening to the album 'Robbers and Thieves' non stop since downloading it, and this is one of many great tracks hidden within. This has to be one of the dirtiest basslines you'll ever here. Brilliant song from a brilliant band.  Kings Of Leon - My Party  Since the release of their third album, I now believe KOL to be the best band making music today. An amazing amount of progression for such a great band in this album, and this is my favourate song. Innovation rules.  Lemonheads - Hannah and Gabi  This album (Shame about Ray) is perfect summer music. And this an almost perfect song. Lap Steel rules.  Enjoy
