Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2016 My Mam used to shrink everything. It's drying it at too high a heat for too long. Best to do them in short blasts and take them out as soon as dry rather than just sticking them on for ages and forgetting about them.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted January 19, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2016 Air dry with a rack? Also means your stuff is less creased.

Steve Justice
Is there such a thing as a database which details people currently serving time? If not, if I'm searching for someone in particular, how readily available would that information be.

Steve Justice
I love these little hints at your dark side that crop up from time to time, Steve. Yeah. I worry myself sometimes. Â This is very innocent though. I'm just curious to know whether a particular person is still inside, and if so when their release date is. Or if they're dead. Â I'd prefer the latter. Ladiesman345
Get a washing machine! You can get one on Gumtree for 50 quid.
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted January 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2016 You're making a lot of assumptions there, Ladiesman — I know that if we put a washing machine in our place (something that the lease forbids anyway), we'd have attached it to the wall at head heigh (something I've seen in apartment ads), or throw a tablecloth over it and bedside table most of the time. King Pitcos
I could get one for free, but it's no use to me when I've nowhere to put it.
Ladiesman345
Jeez, that's a pain in the arse.I thought laundrette's were solely used by the people of Albert Square. Why does your landlord not allow a washing machine, Bill?
Paid Members WWFChilli Posted January 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2016 Can someone explain how TV-am worked. Was it on ITV, if so why did it have an issue with ITN, Isn't ITN also ITV? I legit find all those 1970's/80's TV contract things incredibly confusing. Lister seems to be someone who would know, or Butch.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 19, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2016 TV-AM was, for all intents and purposes, a channel rather than a TV programme. It was a franchise to provide service for 6am-9:25 on channel 3, and so as thus would have to source or buy in it's own news independently. They chose to make their own rather than pay for ITN news content but it was terrible as they were skint and nearly lost their license. The also outsourced their news to SKY News from 1991 when they learned they'd lost their franchise to GMTV in order to save money.
Paid Members WWFChilli Posted January 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2016 So GMTV was essentially the same thing, an independent thing that provided news. I find it all a bit crazy and fascinating, partly because I'm currently watching a doc about it.
