Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 17, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 17, 2012 Never made it to the end. Looked fucking embarrassing well before the 1:40 mark when I turned it off. Who would think that's a good idea? No wonder the business is on its arse. Wrestling people really don't give people a reason not to feel like a complete spanner when watching pro wrestling do they?
CiderBag Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 That's the worst thing I've ever seen.To be fair, I'd rather tolerate something on the goofy spectrum of wrestling than have to endure that dike in America and Ian Rotten smash somebody's face in with glass in front of twenty people in a parking lot. Still, you don't exactly want your work colleagues walking by catching a peek at either
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted May 17, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 17, 2012 The SUPER SHOCKMASTER in WCW action. Look out for the awful interview at the end.
Hugh Thesz Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The Headhunters Vs Ivan and Vladamir Koloff from W*NG, 1992 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=HrzquCK80dw Always loved this match and in particular the suplex at about the two minute point. Should I ever get round to uploading all my early nineties videos I will be able to put the full bout onto You Tube. And for those as sad as me who is interested in what the mighty Vladamir is up to these days: http://i.thestar.com/images/72/6f/2deafe1d...1cdc9140b8d.jpg Shuggy Sorry, I am a tit and can't seem to be able to post a link to the article so Google 'Ex-pro wrestler Vladimir Koloff turns his attention to chickens'. don't know what the fuck I am doing wrong here.

No wonder the business is on its arse. Wrestling people really don't give people a reason not to feel like a complete spanner when watching pro wrestling do they? But the chant of "MAKE THEM DANCE!" seemed to come from a decent amount of people in that audience, so it seemed to me like that was a spot suited to the crowd they had and went down quite well.
Paid Members Wretch Posted May 19, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 19, 2012 Colt Cabana Tweeted a few hours ago along with the message "needs so many more hits". It really, really does.
Patrick "Madman" Kelly Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Never made it to the end. Looked fucking embarrassing well before the 1:40 mark when I turned it off. I think the naysayers are losing sight of the fact that it was for charity so obviously there was a slightly more relaxed attitude where entertainment and light humour was just as important as great wrestling of which there was plenty during the evening. At the end of the day it was just a bit of fun which in my opinion got the desired reaction from the PCW fan base and put smiles on a lot of peoples faces. If that is a crime in wrestling then I will hold my hands up as a guilty party.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 19, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 19, 2012 The crowd might like it fair enough. If you are attracting a audience that will only invest in the wrestlers when they dance like morons halfway through a match, this audience will probably never take a single thing about wrestling seriously. Thus you will never grow as a company and you will never have an ounce of respect from your supporters or peers in the business. Charity or not, its terrible. There's plenty of things you can get anyway with by using the "its only for charity" line, but it still doesn't make it any better. If it was for the crowd, don't put it on the internet. Its just going to alienate people (like me for one) who will now only see PCW as the promotion who allowed a bunch of goons to take the piss out of wrestling by doing something so obviously fake. Can you imagine if any promotion or wrestler worth a fuck sees that? They'd never do business with you. And for what? An obvious attempt to make a shit spot go viral like that hypnotizing spot from CZW?Goes back to a story Fit Finlay told. He said he was on an Indy show and these wrestlers from Chikara did a spot where everything was in slow motion. When they got back, he tore into them. Yes, its fake, but don't rub it in the fans faces he said.
Patrick "Madman" Kelly Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Point taken Ian. I dont whole heartedly agree with everything your saying but its handy feedback for future reference.
Paid Members FLips Posted May 19, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 19, 2012 Talk about throwing a girly fit or what. I usually hate that sort of thing, but I found that quite funny towards the end. It was a charity show for a sick kid, they weren't trying to put on some sort of masterclass in wrestling.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 19, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 19, 2012 You would never pay to watch it anyway or be interested to check it out further, so what does your opinion matter? You're exactly the type of fan that wont bother either way, so you just proved my point. You thought "it was funny lol". You are pretty much an auto pilot fan anyway, so you thinking its funny doesn't mean fuck all to their perception as a promotion. Many promotions around the world have done charitable acts without exposing their promotion as being some joke show. That isn't throwing a "girly fit". That's called having an opinion, which is what a forum is for. An opinion which has been taken on board by Pat.
cobystag Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Coming from the guy himself who wouldn't pay to watch it seen as the only way you'd see it to begin with is to download it illegally and wouldn't travel to a BritWres show regardless of what American names are on it?C'mon now Ian..

An opinion which has been taken on board by Pat.Well I would, as I almost went to see PCW earlier this year but due to not being able to book time off work, didn't end up going. I've heard nothing but good things about them on this board, and if I ended up going and that happened, I couldn't give two shits. I'd enjoy it, and as long as every match on the card wasn't like that, I couldn't care less. The business is "exposed" everywhere you look now, even WWE do it massively now. This shit fit you're throwing over it is hilarious. You seem genuinely offended they had a YMCA dance off in a battle royal. Nearly every UK indy has stuff like this happen, I've been to at least 2 or 3 shows where there's been a dance off or something similar. I didn't care it happened then and I wouldn't care if it happened now.
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted May 19, 2012 Paid Members Posted May 19, 2012 For what it's worth, I don't have a problem with that sort of thing happening on small independent shows- where the audience is made up of internet fans and comedy spots are commonplace. You'd never dream of pulling a stunt like that in front of a broader audience though.

No. You obviously don't understand what I'm saying. Which isn't surprising considering most people who defend British Wrestling can't see the leaves from the trees anyway, and thats why its got a perception thats its not worth going to see. My point is that, if you want to attract an audience its probably not the best idea to put on the internet a video like the one posted above. When I think of PCW, now all I will think of is a bunch of gonks doing the YMCA. Imagine if the average bloke saw that. If you could attract the likes of me, then you probably would be doing something special. Easily please pillocks like Triple A who complain about everything that isn't a joke (likes shit wrestling, but hates Carry On Films?!) is probably not the best audience to target, though. And actually this video proves why I wouldnt follow British Wrestling. That kind of stuff just put me off completely. I dont want to see arseholes doing the YMCA when I go to a show, and that's the kind of shit that I expect at these rotten British Wrestling events. Its bad enough admitting to liking wrestling as it is, without shite like this. The business is "exposed" everywhere you look now, even WWE do it massively now. There's exposing the business and then there's doing a YMCA in a ring and putting it online in a vain attempt at humour to attract mouth breathers who are into that sort of thing. Like that CZW video. This shit fit you're throwing over it is hilarious. You seem genuinely offended they had a YMCA dance off in a battle royal. Nearly every UK indy has stuff like this happen, I've been to at least 2 or 3 shows where there's been a dance off or something similar. I didn't care it happened then and I wouldn't care if it happened now.I said it was shit. Left it at that. Days went by until today when the subject was brought up again (and not by me). Someone replied and I gave an opinion based on what I imagine is a popular one (considering only about 12 people watched the thing or had an opinion on it). You can call it a shit fit or a girly fit if you like, but it matters very little when it comes from you anyway. Its called having an opinion. An opinion that was taken on board by Pat, who's opinion carries more weight than yours in this discussion.
