Jevon Evans is still trying to put that ladder up, that was painfully awkward.

Only watched the opener and the mens ladder match. Former was pretty decent, and the latter was the same old shit they've done for years with this match. One of the worst gimmick matches, its crap.

I detest the live WWE audience. Biggest wankers in the world.

No greater analogy for how the Performance Center fails these trainees than that poster. Over half of them with no grasp of the basics, aura farming and hitting their poses rather than executing the basic fundamentals of the match…That’s if anyone makes it out of the Women’s match alive.

Women’s Money in the Bank somehow becomes an even bigger calamity than expected. You find yourself accidentally falling out of the ring backwards onto your head. Yet you still find the camera to make a face.

What was with getting rid of the two smaller ladders? Even Graves mentioned it didn't make any sense, which from a kayfabe point of view it obviously didn't, but even then they weren't in the way of the stunt he was setting up so it made no sense either way

Lads AEW is right there, if you don't like the WWE product there's a genuinely viable alternative in reach. Very much worth going that way rather than posting about how much you dislike this. Not knocking you doing so, just life is too short to spend time watching something you actively dislike.

Personally, and probably skewed by my daughters love for WWE I quite enjoyed the show. The opener was brilliant, that BFT near fall had us jumping out of our seats. The women's ladder match was rough in places but fun all the same. Stratton winning was probably the least interesting option but I appreciate the story they're telling. I think Jacy Jayne, Roxanne or even Lash would have provided a more intriguing storyline. Poor Chelsea.

Oba-Reed was fine, as was the women's three way.

Main event was an odd stunt show. The amount of time people spent injured via spears seemed to vary too wildly to make sense. That said, my kids popped massively for the Ambulance spot, even if it seemed silly to me. Penta winning, was,the second best option after Owens so I'm happy.

Decent show, clunky and rough in places but fun overall.

I can't be arsed with that either. I'll watch a couple of matches here and there, and like I said, I enjoyed Reigns vs Knight, but I just don't think I enjoy wrestling anymore.

Why was Bryon fucking Saxton ring announcing? He's got the gravitas of a pea that rolled under the table and gathered dust for two weeks.

Alicia Taylor either had the night off or was sick, Mark Nash was doing announcing at a Basketball game and presumably Lillian Garcia was unavailable so Saxton was the back up

You’re assuming here that people are regularly watching WWE, whereas I think the reality is (particularly based on the inactivity in the Raw and Smackdown threads) that people will dip into the larger shows, mainly because they enjoy some of the performers and like wrestling in general. This, on paper, wasn’t a bad card but it was executed horrendously.

Enjoyed Reigns vs LA for what it was, despite being so predictable thought it was a decent WWE style match.

Didn't bother with the Womens MITB match because life is short enough as it is.

It's going to come to the point soon where they have no idea what to do with Oba Femi, I know it's set for Mania with him winning the Rumble but I would actually like to see it earlier in front of a proper crowd.

Womens title match was just there, neither good or bad.

The mens MITB was horrible, this concept needs to go away for a while. The Evans spot was one of the worst I have ever seen, the majority of the crowd didn't even get up off there seats for it.

Just to clarify, because I perhaps was not clear enough, I'm not knocking watching the current WWE product in whatever way you see fit. I am not assuming anything. I just feel there's a very very good alternative, and if this product is not for you, understandably, you might be better off not torturing yourself when there's a very viable alternative. Or don't. It was a slightly flippant point that has already encouraged more discussion than it warranted.

Penta having the briefcase is why I've really hated this gimmick for years and years. It was novel and it had some great moments early doors but it's just been a crap booking crutch for so long.

It feels like they did a good job getting Penta to a point where the crowd actively wanted him to beat Roman Reigns, albeit in Mexico, and then the match itself made him someone who feels inevitible. If we're being fair to WWE and Trips' mostly shitty booking, they've done a brilliant job with Penta from the off. They presented him as a star, he looked uber-marketable, they put him in spots to succeed and it'd be impossible to argue they could have done much more.

At this point, where he's clearly a guy you can build a second title challenge around and have him win in a way that cements him as an incredible babyface, one who is so unique in their entire history, you saddle him with this bloody thing instead. Even if he avoids a naff cash in and calls his shot up front, it's so unneccessary. You've just got him carrying it around, same tropes, same commentary, etc as the last 20 years.

Twenty bleeding years of the same gimmick. It'll be cute when he comes out with a colourful briefcase and the usuals will lose their mind but it's just such mind-numbing booking. One idea, over and over. And he's already there. Madness.

Hopefully they won't have him go on a losing streak before cashing in, always used to love that trope

On another note, I stopped watching Raw after Mania but has Reigns ever said why he's bothered about holding the same title he slagged off when Rollins held it? I can understand him wanting to beat Punk but the whole point of the title itself was that it was beneath him

Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight was a great match. Between his matches with Punk, Penta and now this, Roman’s quietly having a belter of a year between the ropes. Just a shame his character is such a mess, based primarily on politics and dick swinging than any type of logic.

Case in point here: ostensibly, against Knight, he’s the bullying heel, yet he once again wins clean without any interference because he’s Billy Big Bollocks and all the babyfaces just have to eat shit because Stone Cold Rome said so. Simultaneously, in the feud with the 946, Roman and The Bloodline are the babyfaces, yet despite creating chaos for weeks on the end, the 946 don’t even attempt to interfere in Roman’s match. The same STREET GANG who’ve committed common assault, arson, kidnapping and vehicular homicide draw the line at attempting to cost someone a sporting contest for a Championship belt. Hilarious.

Wild to hear people in this thread talking about skipping the Women’s Ladder Match. Do yourself a favour and watch it! It needs to be seen to be believed. An absolute fucking mess of a match that I couldn’t take my eyes off. Simultaneously the best and worst match of the year. Insanely entertaining. Insanely rubbish. Look at the state of this nonsense!

You wonder if this will be a moment in time for this company and they’ll start asking questions about their developmental system. These poor trainees are woefully under-qualified for the positions they get put in. I know ladder matches are completely played out and inherently dangerous, but this was mental. Everything looked shit. Everything went wrong. Lash Legend looked like she had no idea what was going on!

At the very least, someone needs to implement a fucking, “how to catch people,” class as soon as possible!

It’s your William Regals and Jimmy Korderas I worry about. Always so quick to Tweet when something dangerous happens in AEW, I can only assume they’re still too upset and angry to Tweet about this match.

I stopped the show after this match. Even my neck was hurting. Will watch the rest later. I hear there’s an ambulance made out of Rikishi’s sawdust! Can’t wait!

Not surprised to hear this is still going on. When I was last watching WWE it used to drive me bonkers that Reigns was the heel champion, yet the commentators just talked in awed shushed tones about how dominant he was and how long his title reign had been, rather than how he was a villain that cheated and relied on run-ins, and how we should be rooting for the babyface to beat him.

Fucking hell, that's horrendous. Hope all of those ladies are OK and that they get some pro-wrestling training soon.
