Us Ride or Die fans never stopped believing.

One more for the (last real) good guys.

Despite the fact it obviously could (should?) have happened before, I still got incredibly emotional at the result. Probably one of the last real things that I hoped for in wrestling.

Genuinely so fucking happy for him. I have no expectations of the title run. It's not about that for me. It's knowing he's finally won it. Do I think he deserves it? Fuck yes.

Obviously I made the mistake of looking at socials this morning. A mixture of happy fans and elation from other wrestlers to people insulting his heritage and whining he won the title before LA Knight. This shit really is more "fun" if you cut a lot of the idiots out.

Whatever the reason. Whatever the timing. Sami Zayn. WWE champion. That's forever now. And I now forgive him for losing at Mania in front of me. He was playing the long game. Always one step ahead.

Punk vs. Rhodes doesn't need the belt,

God, I hate that line of thinking.

When two of your three biggest stars at fighting at WrestleMania, it fucking should be for the title.

Not bad for Nakamura’s manager.

Seeing the hugely positive reaction online, wrestlers like Kevin Owens, Becky Lynch and Big E celebrating his win and talking at length about how much he deserves it, you wonder if they realise how they should have done this years ago, when he was a top babyface.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they end up having to fight the tide with this one. The idea is obviously for him to be a subtle heel, who only thinks he’s still a hero, but the way everyone is reacting they might have to just go with it. Similar to Becky Lynch in 2018 when they had to abandon pushing her as a heel because no-one wanted it. They don’t even have Road Dogg anymore, to go on Twitter and tell us we’re wrong for who we’re cheering for. Nothing like admitting you don’t understand your own story.

I’m absolutely buzzing. One of my boys did it! Maybe he really is the last real good guy. Maybe us Ride or Die fans were right all along.

Imagine if Kevin turns up and attacks him on Friday.

Best, most interesting booking choice from the WWE in at least a year. It’s still an inevitable discussion that needs to be had, but congratulations, Hunter. You’ve delayed it by a few months.

You sound like you are taking this wrestling quite seriously and I'm sorry but that cannot be tolerated.

All the matches were pretty much decent so obviously here’s some negative thoughts

Michael Cole sounded like he was commentating from the 1982 World Cup during the Oba/Jey match

I know this and the next one are complaints people have had for ages but the commentators not seeing someone until they appear on camera is ridiculous, how did they not notice Charlotte turning up at ringside in the loudest gear ever?

Similarly, Cody being hit from behind in the main event while clearing the announce table, how stupid is that from a kayfabe point of view? Clearing a table and giving your opponent time to recover because you don’t want to hurt them on iPads and cables, Cole even mentioned on commentary that Sami had finished clearing the second table, like it was now legal to use it now he’d been a good boy and tidied up

Glad Sami got his win though, nothing on the show will get me watching Raw or Smackdown anytime soon but I’ll happily watch Summerslam

Michael Cole was fucking dreadful on this show. Any and all sound issues they had was likely fate itself trying to step in and cut his feed.

There is nothing more inauthentic than when Michael Cole delivers his ridiculously prepared, obviously rehearsed lines after a finish. Immediately screaming, “Queen…of the Sky!” when Iyo Sky won, and then his repeated shouts of, “Miracle! Miracle!” when Sami won. He might as well be AI for how much he’s robotically trying to push an emotion, only delivering it in such a phoney way that it kills the moment dead.

I was going to wonder whether it was an age thing, and maybe he’s been doing this for so long that he’s become dead to everything, but Tony Schiavone’s been doing it longer and he still sounds like he’s alive out there. He’ll react to things like a normal human. Cole’s an empty husk.

In an ideal, long-term-storytelling-that's-definitely-intentional-honest world, this would be perfect and even I would probably tune in for it.

It's okay. HHH is way too busy having fun to notice!

Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins should have been this generation’s version of Batista vs. Triple H.

However, rather than being a seminal feud that sets up the company’s next top star, all I’ll ever remember it for is Seth Rollins’ 2026 amounting to, “do Will Ospreay stuff, but shitter.”

He’s Diet Will Ospreay. Will Ospreay Zero.
