Merzbow Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Yuta and Claudio can continue being a team but yeah, no need to keep the stable going at all. I feel like Marina is pretty fucked when it eventually ends though, she's not good enough of a wrestler to make it on her own but is great in this very specific role she currently has. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted July 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 16, 2025 The last couple of years they've done Blood & Guts in June/July, so I could definitely see that happening again in the next couple of weeks; maybe that's what this match sets up. Assuming they keep Ospreay and Joe out selling their injuries, and that the Bucks stay aligned with the Death Riders for the time being, they could easily do Young Bucks/Mox/Claudio/Yuta vs. Hangman/Swerve/Darby/Hobbs/Shibata. Though I still feel that where those wrestlers are concerned, the focus on Dynamite should be far more on following up on the questions raised by the PPV, rather than rushing them into matches against each other within a few days. As well as the questions I mentioned earlier - the future of the Trios Titles, what's next for the Death Riders - we should also get an injury update on Will Ospreay, some follow-up on what the loss of EVP titles means for the Young Bucks, and, you'd think, appearances by Darby Allin and Bryan Danielson. Not advertising those two for the show feels odd. While I personally expect Eddie Kingston to return to NJPW before AEW, to have the return match with Gabe Kidd there, I think the next step in Moxley's story should be Eddie Kingston coming back full of rage about what his mate has become, and how he has gladly aligned himself with Eddie's arch-nemesis in Claudio, and with the man who took him out in Gabe Kidd. From there you can either go into a King/Mox blood feud, or have Kingston be the conscience that drags Moxley back from the brink. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 16, 2025 I don’t care what happens on tonight’s Dynamite, other than one thing. The entire episode rides on it. Quote
The King of Old School Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 The last few posts seem to presume that Danielson is back? I just thought that it would be a one off appearance, certainly don't see him in Blood and Guts if that match happens. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted July 16, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 16, 2025 So the next three weeks of AEW TV are being taped at this absolute beauty of a venue in Chicago: It's designed to look like an old Spanish courtyard. I want to see a balcony dive here so badly. Quote
digforvictory Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Yeah I'm fine with the Death Riders carrying on for a little while more until Blood and Guts where they lose decisively and then that's them finished. Have Darby be the one to make Moxley submit. I do think one of the reasons the WWE product has suffered in 2025 is how the Bloodline story just sort of petered out without a proper decisive ending. Roman Reigns was kicked out the group off screen, then they rushed a reunion of the original Bloodline for WarGames but then that sort of fizzled out afterwards and now there's a real NWO B team vibe to the Bloodline on Smackdown. If they even are still called the Bloodline? Are they? Similar thing with the NWO. Quote

I think there's an assumption that "retiring from full time wrestling" meant he would likely do a few matches a year, although that got muddied a bit by the impression (could be a work) his injuries were more severe than initially thought I don't think it's any close to certain he'd be in Blood and Guts but a big multiman nonsense match wouldn't be the worst way for him to dip his toe in the water of post retirement wrestling Quote

I'm not assuming Danielson is back. I'm assuming that if there is a big blow off, he could/would one of the guys looking to end the Death Riders. Quote

I totally agree - and with Lashley and Benjamin holding the tag titles, I quite like the prospect of Hurt Syndicate vs Mox/Kingston - that could be a very enjoyable brawl. Kingston and Moxley going against MVP and MJF on the mic is also something I’d love to see. Quote
Guest Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Mox has said throughout this whole thing, including just before All In, that the point of the Death Riders was to be a group to make people step up and be the man who could beat them and take the belt off him. Now he's lost the belt I hope they do something cleverer than "heel faction goes on a rampage" and Mox either disbands the group or comes up with some justification for not doing so. Equally it's an interesting time for Claudio. His entire time in AEW has been to be in the BCC/Death Riders. They've given him purpose and personality by association. On his own he could be in real trouble. Quote

I think the story is also that all that "step up" stuff was lies, hypocrisy and bullshit and it was really all about Mox's own ego and wanting to be top dog at everyone else's expense. I'm interested in seeing how the group reacts and their inevitable collapse. Likewise the Bucks went all in on supporting the Deathriders and it ended up with them losing their EVP positions. How do they react? There's loads of ways they can go with it. Quote

Absolutely, and the rest of the group coming to realise that and leaving him ranting, alone, and defeated before Eddie Kingston comes and sits next to him and tells him to Go find himself. Quote
