Their current hot run, combined with the reach of Netflix, will create an even bigger boom than anyone thought possible. The worst people you know will want to talk to you about pro-wrestling.

Cody turns heel. It’s an even bigger success than his babyface run.

Cody vs. Punk is a great Summer-long feud in spite of Punk constantly crow-barring in AEW references that never, ever get a reaction.

Tony Khan signs Chris Jericho to a new three-year deal.

Sami Zayn becomes WWE Champion.

Adam Cole retires.

Will Ospreay becomes AEW Champion at Forbidden Door. Appears on Loose Women. Charms everyone.

By the time Malakai Black really does leave AEW for WWE, doing another big, overdramatic exit, nobody believes it and there’s no reaction in the arena or online. The goth who cried wolf.

Conor McGregor appears at a WWE pay per view. At the post-show press conference, when asked about Conor being found guilty of rape by a civil jury, Triple H falls off his chair in shock.

The Rock doesn’t wrestle. Doesn’t defend his belt. Calls intensify for Jack Tunney to strip him.

Willow Nightingale becomes AEW Women’s Champion. She becomes so popular that Chris Jericho pitches a romance angle to glob on. The Dementor’s Kiss.

Lynch comes back and eventually works a program with Tiff to give her the rub.

This might not happen as they had that run in NXT but I should add, per my Mania prediction elsewhere, Tiffy will work with Trish, and while it might not be the Mania match, beat her on a PLE.

Heel Matt Cardona heads to TNA again and feuds with face Nick Nemeth in a role reversal of the Ryder/Ziggler feud

The North have a decent run in NXT, but Josh Alexander ends up on the main roster. I have to watch his match against Gunther alone in a darkened room.

World Of Sport comes back as an ITVX streaming exclusive and is even worse than the first series. They try to poach some of the cast of Gladiators in an attempt to draw more viewers.

Bryan Danielson doesn't appear in AEW, but does have a run in New Japan, including entering the G1. He inexplicably ends up having a banger with Toru Yano at some point just because he can.

Cody Rhodes vs John Cena and CM Punk vs Roman Reigns will be the two headline matches at Wrestlemania

Bumping this thread so we can all see how off-the-mark we were - I can’t believe I wasn’t right with this one though…what were they thinking by running that triple threat?

Kind of remarkable that @Supremo predicted Adam Cole’s potential retirement, although there’s maybe context I’m unaware of to that prediction; such as Supremo actually being Adam Cole.

Amazing to think even though they're on Netflix, Nobody outside of us fans who keep up religiously and lets be honest, not everyone has Netflix, are watching. They haven't gained any new viewers or lapsed fans.

Yeah they've massively flopped

I posted on here before the first episode of RAW on Netflix that I felt it may bring some new/old fans (mainly old) fans back into the fold, as with the Vault YT channel and Netflix announcement there was people talking about wrestling I hadn't seen talk about it in years.

But its been an absolutely shambles hasn't it really, a few good moments amongst a lot of bad ones and booking decisions that have gone nowhere and it doesnt appear to be getting any better anytime soon.

The reach and prestige of Netflix should have taken them to the stratosphere, but they ended up wanking themselves off so hard that they accidentally pulled their dick off and never recovered. Hunter Hearst Icarus. Flew too close to the sun. It’s what they do.

Someone at NXT copies CM Punk’s move set and in anger burns the PC to the ground.

AEW Forbidden Door gets announced for the o2 4 weeks before the event and still manages to sell out.

Max announces 2m people watch the first AEW Dynamite simulcast. Netflix announces 20m watch the first Raw and ratings are never discussed again (one can dream).

A big WWE star throws a tantrum and wants to quit and spends the rest of the year on the sidelines.

Hook, Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker leave AEW.

Death Rider angle ends before the end of 2025.

AEW get some creative changes and weekly TV improves, but the additional PPV’s suffer as a result.

Big Boom AJ gets the TNT title, Jarrett and Anna Jay win the Owen. Ospreay fails to become the World Champion.

That first Netflix RAW of the year was such an own goal, a bigger crime than the other Jan 6 event... I don't know about numbers but it was so bad it must have turned off so, so many people who streamed WWE for the first time.

The arena looked the business too. Not quite a stadium but huge. Penta debuting was ace. That's about it.
