Anyone here had a go of it? I’m a bit late on this one, but I have and it’s pretty rough. The Nessie flavour tastes a bit like peaches and cream, the unicorn one is - I think - rhubarb and custard flavour. Not Barrs’ best work in either case. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted November 15, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 15, 2025 (edited) Two things: I have recently decided that, of the unusual not-sure-if-I-like-this-but-I-have-just-chugged-another-can East Asian yoghurty soft drinks, I prefer Milkis to Calpis, though Calpis remains more fun to say. More importantly, I recently watched Detroiters to complete my Tim Robinson back catalogue round up. Watching this I was introduced to one of Detroit’s signature beverages: the Boston Cooler. Vernor’s ginger ale and vanilla ice cream blended into a milkshake. Something a child, a stoner or a stoned child would make. The ice cream blending batters all the bubbles out of it, so it’s an ultra sweet and faintly gingery milkshake. Vernor’s is more of a ginger flavoured drink than a fiery ginger beer, but it has to be Vernor’s or it’s not a Boston Cooler. Ordering a single can of ginger ale from an American Sweet vendor was extravagant, but it was bloody lovely. Edited November 15, 2025 by JLM Quote

Paid Members FLips Posted December 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 6, 2025 Had a Pepsi Max Gingerbread the other week and it tastes like a scented candle. Minging. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted March 8 Paid Members Posted March 8 It doesn't taste bad, but it's too jarring to the senses. Neither banana nor chocolate are something I associate with water-based drinks. Just weird. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted March 8 Author Members Posted March 8 That sounds absolutely horrific. As soon as I don't feel like shitting myself every time I cough, I'll find it. I had the Coke Cherry Float, but as I could only find the zero sugar one, it was of course, fucking crap. Quote

I don't know why because brown is a very common soft drink colour, but this looks like it's been brewed from sewage. Edited March 8 by gmoney Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted March 9 Paid Members Posted March 9 Banana Chocolate was the best flavour Chupa Chup until they discontinued it. I’m tempted by the drink but can’t imagine it being nice. Quote

RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Priced exactly the same as the bottles, depending which shop you go (Sainsbury’s for example want £2.45 for them) Quote
RedTwoster Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Irn-Bru energy is back! …except, it isn’t really. In their latest attempt to break into the energy drink market, Barr seems to have changed the recipe again and it tastes closer to a standard energy drink than it does an energy drink version of Irn Bru. I liked Irn-Bru 32 a lot, I liked the original Irn-Bru Energy enough, PWR-BRU was passable and this…isn’t worth buying. It’s disappointingly generic. Quote
Merzbow Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I miss the original Irn-Bru Energy, even the sugar free one was nice as it tasted like a super sour version. Quote
